With matches to begin in about a month and a half who does everyone think will be the top 8 teams from each region?
South
1. Moe
2. St. X/Elder
4. Mcnick
5. Lasalle
6. Fairfield
7. ? Sycamore??? Bacon??
8. Who knows
thats the region im from and know most about so i wont say anything else to make me look like a complete idiot but guys from other regions please add in your thoughts
and south guys can help or disagree with mine for south region

The West: there just may be some shockers here, just have to wait and find out

1) Cville/Fairborn
3) Chaminade-Julienne (Better known as CJ)
4) Beavercreek
5) Lakota East
6) Northmont
7) Alter
8) Middletown

Talent is very spread out in this region. Not a single overpowering team. Lots of inexperience everywhere

SOUTH

1. Moeller
.
.
.
.
2. St Xavier
.
3. Elder
4. La Salle
.
5. McNick
6. Sycamore
.
7. Purcell Marian
8. Roger Bacon

For the East Region, my predictions are in three groups:

Top group--talented, but replacing a lot of experince, or maybe just don't have a complete 7. Worthy of Gold, but not sure if they have what it takes to win it.

Darby, Kilbourne, Mt. Vernon, Pickerington North (Not in order, per say)

Next group is capable of beating a few good teams, but not going to be consistent enough to do it often. Won't make Gold, but could win some Silver

Westerville North, St. Charles, Gahanna

Next group either has some tradition, or a solid core. Won't make Silver, but could win some Bronze

Davidson, Jerome, Delaware

truvball ill expand a little on yours with my own opinions

i think the team to beat is Mount Vernon. they have two dominant players in Pat Blubaugh and Matt Orsborn. IMO Pat has a good chance at POY for the state, the kid is good.

Darby should be good as always though will miss some players who aren't playing this year like Chris Dreger and a couple others but always reload well.

Pick North - graduated a few of their important guys like setter but should contend well and Kilbourne graduated their team last year but Johnson return as well as another outside so i never put it past them.

Beyond those teams as always i am not sure of the depth of central ohio volleyball. Davidson graduated their whole team but have big freshman and sophmore classes and will win some games. Delaware has a couple good guys too so dont put it past them either to do well.

Why did you put Oak hills at 2 if you think 4th is the best they will do:shrug:

I personally dont think you should be able to post things on the volleyball section of yappi, if you have never played volleyball for a school in your entire life.... Sorry Iamtheyetti :Ohno: lol

In the east, Mt. Vernon will be the best team, provided Blubaugh and Orsborne get some good support. Darby is big, but doesn't have much varsity experience. Then again, neither does the other traditional East powerhouse, Kilbourne. The opposite, Johnson, is not playing this year, so all they return is their outsides and their setter. I believe Pick North to be a step below these 3 teams, but they could surprise as they have a lot of their team playing club

Any statewide predictions?

Probably the same as usual since there usually isnt much change from year to year. It will be the GCL South, Centerville, Kilbourne, Davidson, Darby, St Ed's, then a couple other Columbus schools fighting to get in the top 10.

davidson will not be as good as they have been in the last few years, as they lost just about everyone... i'm not sure why kilbournes opposite isnt playing this year, just that he isnt

Ed's

Has a damn good team this year. They have potential to beat the top teams in the state9maybe not Moehler but everyone else). Don't discourage the team just because they are from the north...

not discouraging a team b/c theyre from the north, only from what ive heard... heck, im from the east, a traditionally discouraged region

I saw them play last year and they were pretty good although their setter seemed to be a key part... i dont see them placing much higher than six tho seeing that they lost him

i believe the setter is now playing at osu as a libero... not sure if he gets much playing time though- the one game that i saw he didnt dress, although neither did kehoe
