Perkins football coach Santoro facing suspension after bus incident

He's losing 5 days pay. How much do you make a day?
5 days of coaching pay or 5 days of teaching pay? Big difference and the article says up to the Superintendent on how to handle. If it's the former, simple slap on the wrist.

Bellevue has done that before…..and other schools have done that. But again it goes back to the circumstances surrounding it all. It absolutely was directed at Perkins. I’m still at a loss of why Glenville needed this. I mean it’s 1:15 trip and a straight shot down the turnpike. Did Bellevue need to stop in Toledo somewhere when they played at Wauseon?
The circumstances are irrelevant. Its Bellevue School district and they can allow whoever they want to use the field for a walk through. Sure you can be upset, but what happened next was completely moronic, almost as moronic as your allegation that they shared game film with them 🤣

Maybe if people form the Perkins school district worried as much about preparing for the school they thought they were going to running clock by halftime, they might have had an sweetie for a coach/principal and a state championship 🤣

FYI ldi0t gets changed to sweetie 🤣

I would be hard pressed to believe this situation wasn’t a major distraction “the week leading up to the state championship”. I’m sure there were a bunch of questions immediately following this act. This probably took away time from focusing on their run defense. Lastly, The reality is if Bellevue says no. Glenville finds another place to do a walkthrough. Where you conduct your walkthrough does not affect the game in way.

Horrible look on Santoro and the principal….horrible. Beyond horrible and he’s lucky he got to coach in the title game.

But the bad blood started as soon as Santoro took the job. I don’t think Bellevue is innocent over the years in how they treated one of their own. Given it was just a 5-day suspension, my guess is Perkins people probably have seen and heard quite a bit of the bad blood themselves. But again, refer to my opening paragraph.

As far as the Glenville thing goes - Bellevue knew there was some bad blood going between Glenville and Perkins. Ted Ginn knew there was bad blood between Perkins and Bellevue. Connect the dots. I’d be pissed too if my alma mater and fellow league member put out the welcome wagon to my opponent that day. And again, Glenville is a whopping 80 miles away from Clyde. My guess is Glenville had open access to any film Bellevue had on Perkins in HUDL that week as well. The entire thing can be diced any way Bellevue wants, but it was bush league.
Brain dead. Walkthroughs have been going on since the beginning of time. Why would Ginn need Bellevue film? What was Ginn gonna bounce off the head of a coach who lost to them 43-0 🤔. But at least you had the gumption to admit why anybody would defend this act lol so you get a few brownie points. Somebody already said it but they would've found a different school. Blaming Bellevue for having class and doing something they routinely do is remedial at best

Perkins got bad blood with Padua, Napeleon, Huron, Bellevue, Glenville, had staff call IV midgets and lost the biggest game of their kids career. Shoot they even scheduled Toledo Woodward last year knowing theyd be good, proceeded to score 81 ppints and celebrate it. BUT I can't believe Bellevue and Ginn had the nerve to do such a thing 😂

Focused or not, there is no reason to believe they were going to stop IV from running the ball. Nobody else stopped IV from running the ball. Sometimes you just have to admit you are outmanned.( even by midgets)

The run defense was a sarcastic shot at Perkins. The major point is way to be immature coaches and instead of celebrating beating Glenville and making the state championship game, but rather rub it the host of the walkthrough....

Makes perfect sense on priorities.
Yea Right GIF

You left out Edison

The cupboard isn’t bare
I never said it was, I know they have a few solid players that will be seniors next season. I just said they’ll be forgotten next season as in they won’t be a threat to win a state title. I really hope that unbare cupboard leads them back to face us in the playoffs, I’m still sick from that game. But all sincere congrats to Perkins on their state championship.

I have read this thread a few times over and haven't come across a comment/question like this....

What is wrong with an OHSAA member school helping out another OHSAA member school by offering facilities? This gesture neither gave Glenville an advantage nor put Perkins at a disadvantage. It simply allowed the Tarblooders to break up the trip (even if it wasn't that long of a trip), stretch their legs and make the semi - final experience unique for the kids. Maybe, just maybe, Glenville's coach Ginn knew Bellvue's (former) coach and shot him a message and he said ok, sounds good. The reaction by the Perkins head coach and staff, including the principal wasn't warranted. It was childish and fueled the flame of anger and unsportsmanlike crupola that has been injected into sports today.

1. Every coach that has left Bellevue during Nasonti's tenure has been treated the same way. Ask Greenslade(current AD @ Clyde). Settle issues on the field, not the sidewalk. Grow up.
2. Bellevue hosting teams for walkthroughs is not an unusual thing. They having been doing it every year since the fieldhouse was built. Sometimes multiple times during the playoffs in the same year. It's usually a Cleveland or further school traveling to Toledo or further for a game or vice versa. I know they've hosted St. Ed's multiple times. This situation is about hosting a team that is playing against a conference member.
3. You're the first comment I've seen on either thread that mentions the "experience" for the kids. Isn't that what it's about anyways?

Santoro's sister defended his actions..... is this the same Santoro that pulled the hair the same sister? if so, of course she defended his actions

Bellevue senior Casey Santoro was suspended for one game after an incident in which she can be seen on video yanking the ponytail of Norwalk senior Olivia Ward during their game on Saturday, sending Ward to the gym floor. Ward did not return to the game, which Bellevue won 86-45.

Ward's dad, Jason, took to Facebook Tuesday night to expand on Olivia's injuries after she was seen by a doctor.

"She does, in fact, have a severe concussion that will likely keep her from ever playing basketball again," Jason Ward said. "The season is almost over and it does not look like she will recover in time to play. The doctor has directed us to get a CT brain scan to confirm that she does not have any internal bleeding."

Santoro family may have issues....?? or maybe not...you decide....
