Coventry WILL be more tuff when they join #PACtion™. The boys basketball team has been displaying tuffness this season, and they have been very fun to watch so far. They have the #PACtion™ spirit already!

Area dominated by St. Henry Versailles Delphos St John in the 90's over to Marion Local and Coldwater in the 00's and 10's to what we see now. Hope my Redskins can add to the tally before to long, odd to me that every member has a more recent state title than St. Henry, besides Parkway who is the only member without a Football State title.

Thanks for the back story. Think it was lost on a lot of folks that MSML breaking St John's streak involved 2 schools about 40 miles apart.

And, to summarize your post, yeah, the MAC area has always been good but probably didn't get the attention it deserves until their 2nd & 3rd place teams started winning state titles.

As for the everyone but Parkway comment - while the attention is deservedly on MSML, Coldwater, Versailles, etc it is more impressive to me that Anna, New Bremen & Fort Recovery have all won titles in the last 10 years. This year, Minster, the 3rd place team, lost 3 games to 2 teams (both state champs) and Anna, the 4th place team, lost 4 games to 3 teams (2 state champs & Minster).

For context, the 4th place PAC team this year was Canton South who won 4 games.

A few years back when I was working in Toledo, there was a UT grad student who did a thesis on genetic islands, places where the gene pool determined various social factors like athletic ability. One of the areas she studied was that region of the MAC where certain communities produce winning football teams year after year. One of her conclusions is that there is a core group of families along the Route 119 corridor with genes superior for football success. I wish I could access it, it was fascinating stuff. When you look at it, the MAC football teams that consistently produce are Coldwater, MSML, Minster, and St. Henry. Interesting.

True story here @TopCat , I worked with a local coach who masters thessis was on something very similar and he used good old Manchester High School as his ground zero. Apparently when other school were making gym optional or getting away from standard calisthenics, push ups pull ups and rope climbing and replacing it with ballroom dancing Manchester was still holding to "old school" gym. I know this doesn't have much to do with genetics but apparently the "gym" classes you and I grew up with makes for some tuff football as well.

PIT-- Smoove appreciate your appreciation. It woulda beent a funny story for Smoove to read aboutcht, but since it aktually happenated to Smoove, it ain't so funny. Salisbury State, on the other hand, always had a good lacrosse program when I was in college, and upon further research, it appears they still do with NCAA title #13 coming in 2023.

PIT- Smoove very concerned that you don't seem to care aboutcht all the dongs in your wifeys piossessionation......A couple dongs is okay, Smoove know sometimes they are pretty good if there ain't no twinkies, or Lil' Debbie cakes around, but 10K???
