Ohio State Football 2024

Biggest problem IMO with the NFL is the talent level is too even between each team.
Then stick with college where great teams bully the poor teams and 75% of the games are not competitive and never in doubt.

Most normal people like parity and competitive games. It is better entertainment, which is the purpose of sports.

I do, I barely watch the NFL anymore. It’s a boring product with too much parity. Offenses run across the league are all pretty similar adding to the boringness. Not to mention for the most part college teams have most of their rosters from their region and these players have more of a pride playing for their team where the NFL doesn’t.

I just don’t have as much respect for franchises that can be one of the worst teams in the league one season and then immediately become Super Bowl contenders in one offseason.

So you just said most college teams are regional based and have pride for their local team, yet come on here and complain whenever Ohio St doesn’t get a player from the South.

I complain about when OSU doesn’t get Ohio kids too. Doesn’t take away from the fact that more of their roster is comprised of Midwest kids than anywhere else.

To each their own, I guess.

I watch OSU games and then only other college games where two big boys play each other. Zero interest in watching a 20+ point favorite bully some sad team looking for a payday. Then they pull starters in the 3rd quarter with a 30 point lead. Yawn.

Any given NFL game can be very competitive and interesting. Give me that.

You have to admit that winning a title in college as an underdog and less resources would be so much more fulfilling than winning in the NFL.

This is why I still think the MLB is better than the NFL as well.

In theory, sure, it would be very fulfilling for an underdog to be champ. Remind me, when was the last time an underdog won an NCAA football title?
It was a rare thing when Cincy made the playoffs in 2021, and they were promptly hammered.

Which is why I enjoyed Ohio State football under old 8-3 Earle Bruce. Most games were not preordained blowouts. The games are interesting when outcomes carry some doubt . Entertainment can come without having to worry about style points or playoff rankings. Life does not require blood lust for victory in situations where death is not at stake.

Tbh, I would go as soon as last season with Michigan. Took them awhile but they did eventually break through and win a title with the 14th best roster according to 247 composite.

So the program with the most wins in the history of college football is your underdog? Got it.

Tired Good Night GIF

They were #2 in the 2023 preseason poll. They were #7 preseason in 2022. Calling them an underdog champion is pure nonsense.
Located in Michigan? Playing in the Big Ten? Lack of recruiting resources? What they accomplished took years to get to the top. Not nonsense at all
