Ohio State Football 2024

Are the people whose wedding you attended happily married today?

I have this theory that couples who plan fall Saturday weddings are pure evil and will never be happy.

Don't disprove my theory. :)
Actually they are very happy & still together. My wife ran into the bride the other day. A few months ago I'm in line at a busy automated car wash and one of the workers was waving to me frantically. It was the married couples son.
I distinctly remember going back & forth from the church and the car listening to the game. I was VERY nervous about that game since this was my first time in my lifetime these two played.
As I watch the 96 game today OSU pretty much dominated, but kept ND in the game
Also watched the 2005 Fiesta Bowl today and even though we won 34-20 I totally forgot how much meat we left on the bone. Shoulda/ coulda been way worse

If ND is stupid enough to play man, will get ugly good. If zone, I see 28-10.

I think their man stuff is a talking stunt.

Why did I agree 2 weeks ago to train the new guy in the office? Tuesday screams WFH and then some...
Just like 2022 and 2023? They are better in man than you think and better in man than anyone OSU has faced

They “play man” 56% of the time, which means they are very nearly perfectly balanced between man and zone. That confuses QBs. Somehow, that’s still the highest rate of man in the country. Explosive passes are defined as greater than 20 yards. I would bet that Ohio State hits 4-5 of them. I would also bet that none of them go for TDs as Notre Dame is excellent getting guys on the ground. Notre Dame won’t shut Ohio State down completely, but they are going to make them grind out 12+ play drives to score, and they won’t give Ohio State free access throws either.

you are a very detailed person.. you are good at breaking things down... wonder how you compare ND QB to Oregons QB.....in style of play?

Leonard and Gabriel aren’t remotely close to each other in style of play. Gabriel is probably the most accurate thrower of the football in the country and he’s relatively shifty in the pocket and can run a little, but there are some athletic limitations in that he’s under 6’-0” and he’s probably only a 4.8 guy. So he sometimes can’t see over his line and he’s not going to be explosive running the ball. Leonard is a great running QB that can throw a little. He runs QB power in short yardage as well as any college QB since Tebow, and while he’s not that shifty, he’s very fast in the open field. Leonard is a legit 6’4” and will probably run 4.4x at the combine this year. The limitations are that he does not have a big arm, he can’t throw any ball downfield other than a slot fade, and he can’t throw layered touch throws into windows. What he does do well is complete screens, quick outs, and slants at a very high clip and he is elite at sack avoidance. You can have the pocket completely collapsed, and Leonard will find a way to get back to the line of scrimmage or even gain 2-3 yards to not put ND too far behind schedule.

He’s coached better lately but I wouldn’t mind at all. Bring DJ Durkin home. Better recruiter and more aggressive
Im sure you'll put a similar spin regarding Day if they win a national championship. Things arent looking good for all of your anti Knowles/Day posts. This thread is about the 2024 team. If Ohio State wins it all, they achieved their ultimate goal. Im looking forward to your posts after the game.
As I said early on in this thread. If Ohio State doesnt win it all, you'll say "I told you so". If they win it all, you'll say your their biggest fan.

Everything I’ve complained about that they should be doing instead of what they were doing they finally have done it against Tennessee and so on. I’ve been pretty on point in my criticisms with as many big games Ryan has lost.

Sounds like the players really blasted Ryan Day in that 3 hour team meeting and has supposedly changed. I am a big OSU fan, probably bigger than just about anyone here.

It’s why people choose to be hyper critical. First of all it makes them appear smart, like they are smarter than the coaches. Then when they lose, it confirms they are smart. If the team wins then they say, see, they did what I said and they won. See how smart I am? lol.

Exactly

OSU 38 ND 10 ND defense does not impress me. If OSU can win a stalemate at the LOS IMO, the skilled players for OSU will have a big night. USC offensively put up 500 yds. of offense vs ND (Louisville had close to 400 yds. of offense vs ND). IMO OSU has an offense as good as USC. Stop Love and again don't have to win the battle at the LOS just don't lose it when on offense.

Crank it up, bltches!
