Bowersville became Greeneview South Elementary for many years, Grape Grove became Greeneview North Elementary and Jamestown became Greeneview Central, serving as a middle school/junior high. Central was torn down and I believe the other two now sit vacant. As far as the name you make a valid point, but remember when these consolidations happen it can lead to some sore feelings. Just calling it Jamestown might have been offensive to the residents of Bowersville or Grape Grove!

I am not sure where the name Greeneview came from. But the old schools were K - 12 and were named for their townships before the consolidation. Ross became Greeneview North Elementary. Jefferson became Greeneview South Elementary. Silvercreek became Greeneview Middle School with 6-8.

Coming off two "unexpected" (at the beginning of the year) BIG wins....the Panthers have a trap game this week.
Fairbanks has senior night this week, every coach's favorite game and festivities. I hope they are not looking at WJ record or ahead to next week's potential showdown with WLS for a conference title.
WJ coming off a win and playing with "nothing to lose" against a team they have had success against for the last few years.

Fairbanks defensive backs can be susceptible to the pass as well...if the WJ offensive line can block, Buescher could have a big day.

R. Green could need a few of his big play touchdowns or this one could be close in the 4th.

Ryker should have a big game. I am interested to see if West Jeff has started throwing down field more or is continuing to throw screens and quick passes. If it's screens and quick passes exclusively, I think Fairbanks will be fine. If they are letting Buescher open it up, it certainly could be a trap game.
 
Youth has started to show over the last 2 games with Burg. Penalties and turnovers have killed them. Northeastern fared decently well against West Lib, Jets win 35-14
 
Still keeping hope that this Burg team can make a little bit of a run in Region 23. Most of the teams in R23 have very bad SoS, with Burg being one of those teams. Only teams I couldn’t see Burg having a chance against are Ridgewood and Fort Frye
 
No trap game for Fairbanks, WJ can not throw the deep pass this year, no one to throw to, Fairbanks wins, and i hope we don't make the playoffs,

I hope they make the playoffs. It’s a great experience for those young kids and it gives those seniors 1 or maybe 2 more games and then there careers are over.
 
Week 9 and important week for league championship and playoff scenarios!!!


West Jefferson (3-5, 1-2) at Fairbanks (6-2, 3-0) - WJ has not traveled well losing all away games so far; they are playing a bit better but need to come up with a major hardcore effort which I am not sure they are capable of; Fairbanks always seem to play WJ tough, have tons of confidence and has spoiled a few seasons for WJ; can WJ be a spoiler in the last 2 games???? Calling for an upset special on the road for my Riders (30-28)

Mechanicsburg (5-3, 1-2) at Northeastern (5-3, 1-2) - Can Burg end the 2 game losing streak? NE at home after a disappointing loss last week. I find it hard to believe Burg will lose 3 in a row so taking them on the road for the win. (28-24)

West Liberty-Salem (7-1, 3-0) at Triad (1-7, 0-3) - West Lib on the road completing road win sweep in the North, they roll and claim at least share of N title (42-7)

Catholic Central (2-6, 0-3) at Greeneview (8-0, 3-0) - Gview working to complete undefeated season, big win at home (49-6)

Cedarville (3-5, 1-2) at Greenon (1-7, 1-2) - Knights pick up another much needed win at home (21-14)

Southeastern 3-5 (2-1) at Madison Plains 4-4 (2-1) - Plains bounce back after tough week last week, secure home team sweep for South; 2nd place in S and getting close to securing playoff spot (24-14)

Agree on DB'S ....would help if they didn't play man2man almost every play ...JMO
 
14-12 Burg at half. This game could’ve been ugly but Burg has shot themselves in the foot once again. Fumble at the 1 yard line, 3&4th from Northeastern 5 and couldn’t score, and at the end of the half a Pick and he could’ve gone down before time ran out but was stop about Northeastern 7 yard line
 
What a push by the Burg O-line! About a 5 yard QB sneak from the jets 12 yard line turns into a a TD after the Burg O-line pushes him acrossed. Burg leads 35-18
 
After a couple busted coverages in the first half that led to a few jets TDs that was the best I’ve seen the Burg D play in a while. The running game was good and passed the ball when needed. Big momentum boost for this team heading into week 10 and on!

MP 31-0 over SE! I believe this will give them there first ever earned playoff bid in school history! Even more impressive after last 3 years of 2-28 football. Lots of factors, but at the end of the day this team will most likely be 6-4!

I thought this one would be close. They jumped all over them from out of the gate.

I’m not sure where this stands after Northeastern getting beat tonight, but I’d actually be interested in NE vs MP as a 7/10 or 8/9 game. Assuming they win next week I think Plains is about a near lock to be the 9 or 10 seed in that region.
