the legislature did not set any prices. what i believe they said is that student tickets need to be less than adult tickets. Our tax dollars at work. The most important thing the legislature had to do was set prices for high school sports.
So lower one price, so you can raise the other pricethe legislature did not set any prices. what i believe they said is that student tickets need to be less than adult tickets.
that looks to be how they are handling it.So lower one price, so you can raise the other price
Let’s not get into the politics of it on a football forum. Ticket prices is relevant, that’s it.My point was we still have education funding issues, the legislature passed a bill setting utilities rates due to bribes and there are issues regarding fracking in state parks, gerrymandering and home rule for cities. But the most important issue for the legislature was setting a price schedule for hs sports. If that’s what is important save the money and just keep those clowns at home.
The crazy thing is when we went at Paint Valley, and used our Buckeye Card, it cost us $3 to get in the football gameLet’s not get into the politics of it on a football forum. Ticket prices is relevant, that’s it.
It seems like the OHC opted to increase adult prices rather than decrease student prices. I am not sure. We have had this coming.
I do think that no one but individual leagues themselves should be mandating ticket regulations. State should have no say in price and if schools are required to offer cash sales or not. Leave it up to the communities and the needs they have.
This season I have had some schools let me in free with Buckeye Card, some give a discount, and some I pay full price. seems differnet everywhere. The crazy thing is when we went at Paint Valley, and used our Buckeye Card, it cost us $3 to get in the football game
I really appreciate you putting this out, I look forward to it every week. I just have a hard time believing that Greeneview and Madison Plains have only played 28 times. They were in the KTC together, has to be more like in the 40's I would think...WEEK 8 - OHC SOUTH

I think Madison Plains has a reputation, deserved or undeservedly so, of being a bit of a league jumper.I did a little research and i guess you are right, didnt realize they didnt join the KTC until 1985 and dropped out in 96. Then didnt join the OHC until 2014. I just assumed they were in both the entire time.
I think when they first consolidated they were in the DVL through the mid 70's then went to the SCOL through the mid 80's, then the KTC until they joined the BAC late 90's - early 2000's. Then back to the SCOL from 03-13. Then to MSL from 14-16. Then to OHC from 2016-Present.I did a little research and i guess you are right, didnt realize they didnt join the KTC until 1985 and dropped out in 96. Then didnt join the OHC until 2014. It's probably actually not accurate. Ohio Football database only goes back to 1972. I know for a fact that WLS/Mechanicsburg have played since 1929 and consecutively since 1964. My guess is it's closer to the 75th matchup in that series, but I can only find back to 1972 online.I did a little research and i guess you are right, didnt realize they didnt join the KTC until 1985 and dropped out in 96. Also, Madison-Plains did not exist until the 1971-72 school year. Before that, there was Madison South HS and Plains (Mt. Sterling) High School. I don't know how/if the current school counts the records from pre-merger (I think both played football, I know Madison South did). It's probably actually not accurate. So a lot of these are probably a bit skewed for the older rivalries.
They both had football. Plains Blue Devils was Mt. Sterling. Couple uncles played for Madison south and my father and other uncles played for Madison plains after they consolidated. Also, Madison-Plains did not exist until the 1971-72 school year. I was wondering what exhisted for Greeneview, Cedarville and Southeastern before the Darby Valley League? The furthest i could go back was 1972, and i know they have all played each other before then. Maybe there wasnt a league back then? It's probably actually not accurate. Sounds like there is some young talent coming up for the Knights. This week is likely the only chance Greenon has to win a game. They have not lost to SCC since 2016. 7 game winning streak.
Did some digging and found a few years prior. Greeneview joined the Darby Valley League in 1956, leaving in 1977 for the KTC. Cedarville joined them in 1961, also leaving for the KTC in 1977. Southeastern also joined the Darby Valley League in in 1963, and again leaving for the KTC in 1977. I think its been mentioned before, but lots of OHC teams were in the Darby Valley League, including Triad (1956-73), West Jefferson (1956-74), Madison South, now M-P, (1956-73), Mt. Sterling, also now M-P, (1957-73), West Liberty-Salem (1961-67), and Mechanicsburg (1963-77).I was wondering what exhisted for Greeneview, Cedarville and Southeastern before the Darby Valley League? Prior to the DVL, Cedarville and Greeneview, or the three schools that consolidated to form Greeneview (Bowersville, Jamestown-Silvercreek, and Grape Grove), were members of the Greene County League from sometime in the 1920's until going to the DVL. Other schools in the Greene County League included Beavercreek, Bellbrook, Xenia East, Fairborn, Spring Valley and Yellow Springs.
There’s a ton of good info on Wikipedia of all places about defunct conferences all over the stateWow! That’s awesome information! Where did you find it, I would love to look at it.

I’m pretty sure that both Mt. Sterling and Fairfield (township north of Mt. Sterling and south of West Jeff) had football before consolidating into Plains H.S. in the late 1950s. Mt. Sterling definitely had football. I don’t believe that school was referred to as “Plains” until Fairfield merged with it, and it only lasted for a decade or so before they began working to merge with Madison South (which itself had probably only lasted a short while as a consolidation of Midway, South Solon, and perhaps Madison Rural?) to form Madison-Plains. This all happened within about a 20 year window. In the late 60s Mt. Sterling/Plains was almost part of the consolidation that created Westfall in western Pickaway county. They both had football. Plains Blue Devils was Mt. Sterling. Couple uncles played for Madison south and my father and other uncles played for Madison plains after they consolidated.
