New thread time!! Congrats to the Flyers and Cavaliers on winning their 15th and 8th state championships. Lots of good athletes graduate but lots of good athletes remain.

1. Marion Local- Tim Goodwin will pull some wizardry and they'll compete for the league championship again

2. Coldwater- We have quite a few skill positions kids back which I'm excited about. Having Braxton Taylor and Derek Dues in the backfield will be fun. We return 2 O Linemen and 1 d linemen but our JV team was good. Hopefully Karsyn Homan is ready to take the reigns at Qb

3. St Henry- I believe they return their backfield and it'll be interesting to see what their coach does in year 2.

4. Anna- i believe they return one of the Shappies. Had a heck of a year last year.

5. New Bremen - they have a good Qb returning and are well coached. Can they build into a contender?

6. Minster- My guess is that young Stephey might play qb next year and might be a work In progress but still will have a great year.

7. Versailles- Hopefully they don't have the injury bug like last year. Hopefully coach Jones can get them competitive with the middle of the pack.

8. Delphos St Johns- will their numbers improve after their playoff run? I hope so

9. Fort Recovery- New coach has his work cut out for him but if they can get the numbers in year 1 of a new coach, they might have a successful season.

10. Parkway- Had good numbers last year. Hopefully that continues but they just don't have the talent of the schools above

SH might have the most talent, but Werling doesn't yet have the coaching experience to outduel hall of famers like Otten and Goodwin. He may get there someday, but he currently has only one season under his belt as hc.

I believe the league will be more balanced next year - not as many games involving a running clock.

And that would be good.

6. St Henry- I believe they return their backfield and could finish as high as 4 maybe even 3. That's how competitive the middle of the MAC is.

It will be interesting to see who the starting Qb will be next year for the Tigers. Returning starting Qb , starting JV Qb or Freshman Qb from this past year.

does Goodwin retire? any thoughts that he might?
He's only 53 so highly unlikely. He's made comments that he's just out there having fun on the journey now. If I'm a betting man, I bet he coaches til 60 and retires from coaching then as principal a couple years later.

Next year is lining up to be an interesting one here in St. Henry. Coach Werling going into his second with a talented roster that return most of it production. We return everyone on the offensive side of the ball I believe, while losing a couple key contributors on defense though. From what I've heard expect to see another change at QB allowing Charlie Werling to be a full time RB and Jack Huelsman to be a WR. I think the season comes down to if the staff in year two is really ready to push for anything this year.

As I said before. Whatever he's paid it's not enough.

Ironton Marion Local would be amazing.

It would be a miracle but I'd love to see Marion Local vs Indian Valley in week one.
To beat MsML ya gotta play them week 1 or 2 after a large SR class so....next yr is.the time for OOc to beat the St15ners.

I'll soon have my much anticipated preview for the MAC in 2025.

Sneak Preview: league will be way, way, way down and thankfully we got 2 titles this yr as I expect getting shutout in 2025
