Michigan 2025

I think they did pretty darn good with JJ McCarthy. 27-1 all time as a starter.
We’re talking about 2024 and 2025, moron. Why did Jim and Sherrone “forget” to develop a QB post JJ McCarthy? What QBs did they develop before him at Michigan?

Cheat, Cheat. Cheat.

Slap on wrist, slap on wrist, slap on wrist. All due to talking to a recruit or recruits earlier than allowed. Just MINOR B.S. that we all know coaches do behind the scenes. And it's actually worse all the teams/coaches that were illegally paying players before NIL. No one can cast the first stone. All is good in Ann Arbor!. Go Blue!

Good point: all three (3) show causes for Jim Harbaugh, Jesse Minter and Steve Clinksdale’s three (3) separate cheating violations AND the two arrests for pedophile Alex Yoon and serial sex pest Matt Weiss have nothing to do with the sign stealing scandal.

I’m glad you highlighted that fact, bkmk1. Wouldn’t want people thinking Michigan is getting a slap on the wrist for the sign stealing scandal. That punishment hasn’t been announced yet.

This news really jumped out to me today. As a university administrator this move makes zero sense. Leaving a high prestige public university for a very good but lesser public university.

Cheating scandal issues aside - this could be a huge detriment to Michigan athletics going forward. They had a pretty extended down phase that was hampered by university administration and Ono, dating back to at least his UC days, has been incredibly athletics friendly. Even big time homer insider Chris Balas mentioned he made some crucial and important athletic decisions that no Michigan president in recent memory would have made.

Ask any OSU fan - huge difference in having an at best neutral (at worst anti-athletics) president in Drake vs. pro-athletics like Gee, Johnson and Carter.

Per Thamel, Michigan self imposes a 2 game suspension for Moore, for deleting texts, against Central Michigan and Nebraska - will coach games 1 and 2, against New Mexico and Oklahoma (his Alma mater). The NCAA can, and likely will, still punish Moore/Michigan.

Meanwhile, the Committee on Infractions sets a hearing for Michigan for June 6th and 7th.

They are slimy and calculating even when imposing self punishment.

I think it just came. Hope no one got hurt too badly.
Keywords here. Stop thinking and instead try just reading next time. I thought I spelled it out easily enough, my apologies for giving you too much credit.

This was a self imposed suspension for level 2 violations only. This is not the NCAA’s punishment. Michigan self imposed a 3 game suspension for Jim in August of ‘23, in August of ‘24 the NCAA added an additional year long suspension and a 4 year show cause. The NCAA is meeting regarding the scandal in one month and one day. Their punishment will be announced after that.

Edit: originally had Jim was suspended for 2 games, it was 3

And read what I am saying: the self imposed suspension on Sherrone Moore by Michigan, JUST CAME OUT. That is fact, not a made up fairy tale. No where did I say it was an NCAA punishment. Key words: Go Blue!

Ono left due to a dispute with the regents over DEI and how to handle Trump 2.0. His destination should tell you which side of the argument he was on.

Ono is a massive loss for Michigan athletics.

You notice how they didn’t pick the Oklahoma game? Leaves the NCAA a nice opening to suspend him for the Oklahoma game so it looks like they are being hard on Sherrone.

Maybe even double those two games by making it the first four weeks. That’s my guess

Yeah, thanks for confirming this isn’t the NCAA hammer other fan bases have been talking about. Glad we were able to clear that up.

Im following this closely but not super closely, but how many of those 6 level 1 violations is Moore involved with? Depending on when those charges drop we may see the suspension last longer than 4 games.

GO BLUE !!!! Oh oh my poo poo hurts yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!! the HAMMER WILL FALL --Freddie Merks

Sherrone’s involvement is only for the texts he deleted. If he hadn’t of deleted the texts he’d have no NCAA liability personally.

I’m all for giving Sherrone four games. Deleting those texts was stupid and very unnecessary especially considering he knew the NCAA would want them. Let him have it.

What's next for Michigan, the NCAA, and the never-ending 'sign-stealing' saga:

ESPN's Dan Wetzel dropped by the Rich Eisen show to discuss.

If you're exhausted from the seemingly never-ending 'sign-stealing' saga with Michigan and the NCAA, you're not alone. Nearly two years after the story first broke, the Michigan Football program is still dealing with the fallout from Connor Stalions' actions during his time with the Wolverines.

In additions to the current limitations of the NCAA, Wetzel also acknowledged that the investigation never uncovered some grand conspiracy among the Michigan coaching staff. Instead, Wetzel says the NCAA never found evidence that suggested the sign-stealing scheme went far beyond Stalions himself.

"There's just limitations to what the NCAA can do, I don't know what they're going to come up with. They have not ever found a widespread understanding that Connor Stalions' actions went very far beyond Connor Stalions and a couple other guys - maybe a couple other guys - at his level. If anything, Sherrone Moore should have never deleted the texts because they, in some ways, made him look good. They validated that he did not know. But this is where we're at. This is how NCAA violations go. They often end up being process crimes. It's really hard to catch anybody doing anything without real police power, even in the days of electronic communication."

And I still stand by: that I don't give a rats behind if they stole signs or not. Very minor deal. Teams they played after the potential news was out, still couldn't stop Michigan and their power run game. And every team had an opportunity to run plays in, change some signs, use cards instead, etc... All good in Ann Arbor! All good in Florida! All good in Erie, PA. All good with: "THE" Michigan Wolverines. Go Blue!

This is the ridiculous stupid part … just because they won after getting caught means nothing … you still cheated … just admit they cheated!

I don't care that Stallions was stealing signs. NOT 1 BIT!!. I don't care that S. Moore deleted 2 texts. NOT 1 BIT!! National Champions and completely legit. And 15-0 that left NO DOUBT!! Go Blue!

… so the ends justifies the means … Michigan use to stand for integrity … I guess not anymore … Miami/Michigan what’s the difference?

Cast the first stone. NO program is clean. And if Michigan (Connor Stallions), is simply accused of stealing signs, too bad. That is a joke and I don't care if they did or didn't.
