Hey look the Jackson fan lives up to their stereotype. Garbage people who have a grossly inflated sense of themselves. Treat everyone from the "city" as beneath them. You didn't have to dig too far into your personality to make those posts. I bet you use the n-word a lot. Money obviously doesn't buy class.

Again, I love city schools, and McKinley was always the best environment for basketball games, but the one thing I refuse to hear is the racist stereotype associated with Jackson. I was born and raised in Canton, I still live in Canton, I always lived in Canton. I lived down the street from a Canton Local Elementary, and I hoped to go there for school with all of my friends, but my parents refused and enrolled me in a nearby private school. I moved to Jackson in 3rd Grade, and I never really was comfortable there until high school, where I got very involved in school spirit. I love the city of Canton, and I especially hold no grudges against McKinley, but I hate being called a racist just because I happened to end up at Jackson.

This all started when i asked how many years in a row has McKinley beat Jackson. He then made it personal.
You made it personal by bringing it up in the first place, and it had nothing to do with the conversation at hand. You're a great instigator, my friend. Take pride in that if you will.

Well, these conversations never end well.
I once had a guy from Canton tell me he hated Perry people. A woman from Perry once told me her friends yelled at her for working in Jackson. And then once I had a boss who moved here from New York ask me what the heck everyone's problem was with each other's high schools.

I have zero problems with others high schools, just a problem when they cause one with mine.

I've said all along Green has no running game. They haven't had a great one in years. Now with their QB out they have nobody to get the ball to their outstanding Receiver tandem. Green is getting better but just not turning the corner. They were better than Jackson and found a way to lose.
They were not better than McK but should have EASILY won the game. Of course their QB going down had a lot to do with it. To get to the next level they have to win those two games instead of finding ways to lose. They aren't likely to win another game but we do have a really good coach so maybe he can come up with something?
You do have a good coach. Does he call the plays?

Yeah the fed is kind of weird in that department. Every school seems to have a little beef with one another in some way. Maybe because most are in close proximity? Not sure.

Yes, of course he has some help in the box. At some point I hope Green gets a stud RB cause I'd like to see how he changes up the offense to adapt to that. He has done a great job developing QB's and Receivers but I think RB's are more born than coached. Getting an indoor facility in a couple of years should help even more on QB and Rec. development.

I think also that if you're from a mostly white city/Township you are also immediately labeled. Nobody from Perry or GO are considered that?

Its funny. I moved out to a small D5 in rural Ashtabula County and their big rival is another no name farm town a few miles past the feed store. To me they are EXACTLY the same podunk dots on a map - completely indistinguishable - yet they talk about each other like they are from different planets. Totally despise each other! Which I find endlessly amusing.

And then he went to a local football game and figured it out. We actually care and have pride for where we are from, in NY they are probably lucky to get 200 people to a game.

Having a "beef" with a school in your conference I dont mind. Competetive banter back and forth doesnt bother me. But you dont need to make it personal or start fights in the stands come game time. Thats too far.
I do think the schools location has a lot to do with it.

Not likely to win another game? Green will beat Louisville and Perry. It sounded to me like Lodgson did a nice job at QB, leading a TD drive at the end of the first half and converting a 4th and 12 on the last drive. Having to fill in on the road against the best team on the schedule is a brutal way to get one's first varsity action. Nowhere to go but up. Green will still be able to move the ball on offense, and the defense may be even better than the 2021 defense was. Putting Martin at QB for some series should help the run game. GlenOak worries me because they run the ball well and have a huge O-line, but their best offensive player (Avante Burt) got hurt against Hoover. Friday's matchup will be tough, but winnable.

Perry has played the same two teams as Green the last two weeks. While Green's losses have come by a combined score of 48-40, Perry's have come by a combined score of 93-21. And Louisville was down 42 at halftime on Friday. As for the last two opponents on the schedule, Hoover's defense is suspect. Lake has injury issues of their own and have scored 14 or fewer points in regulation in 3 out of 5 games. Green still has Martin, Baglia, Taylor, Schaal, Gallemmo, Manderine, both Fortunatos and Just all healthy and ready to go for the second half of the season. That's a damn good core of guys. Worst case Green goes into the playoffs at 5-5, but I think 6-4 or 7-3 is more likely.

It's a Northeast Ohio tradition, good or bad.

You are correct, I jumped too fast. There is time to quickly figure out a plan but it won't be easy. I really know little of the back up QB, he may be more than sufficient. Its just that Green just can't absorb the injuries like some teams can. Their depth will get there and I am waiting patiently. I have faith Geis will figure something out.

Yeah Hoover and Jackson (and probably the rest of the fed) talk about Lake like we are a bunch of cousin lovin hillbilies from the south when in fact all 3 basically have the same type of kids and families. A couple of farms in your town and you’re automatically from the south.

You're right that depth is an issue for Green. I just don't get why Lake and Jackson can consistently get 70+ guys on their varsity rosters, but Green can't seem to get more than 50-55. Even though the teams were bad, there were more guys playing football for Green when Coach Wallace was in charge. I was expecting the program to grow in numbers after the playoff run two years ago, but it just hasn't happened. Also, the freshman team is winless, and I'm not sure they've scored a point in any of their five games.

You brought up the new indoor facility being built. Hopefully that will make a difference.

Getting back to football,(clearing my throat), my thoughts on this weeks games….
McKinley at Hoover…..I feel Hoover will give them their best shot, but I think the Bulldogs pull away in this game by the third quarter.

GlenOak at Green….last week might have been a watershed game for the Golden Eagles in gaining confidence. While I think Green pulls this one out, I wouldn’t be surprised if GlenOak wins a nail biter late in the fourth

Jackson at Lake…..if Lake gets pressure on Ecrement they have a good shot of winning. I think Lake‘s defense shuts down Jackson’s running game. If you sit back in coverage against the Polar Bears, you’re asking for trouble.

Perry at Louisville…..hopefully the Panthers shore up their pass defense. Rushing 3 and playing 7-8 in coverage isn’t working against spread offenses. The past two weeks scores tell you that. They also need to take advantage of scoring opportunities. No fumbles or interceptions can happen. The Leopards will try to exploit their pass defense and have a decent QB, but even at that, the Panthers running attack should pull them through by a couple touchdowns In the second half.
