If I was a Minerva fan I would not be impressed with how this went down. Score was 33-25 WH through 190. Haines pinned WH Miller (215) this year at Claymont, that could potentially make the score 33-31 heading to hvy. Yes, likely Baldridge pins for 6, but you at least put yourself in a position for a shot at the win. But pride got in the way somewhere and they forfeit 215 (sealing the team loss), bump Haines to hvy to see Baldridge and he not only gets pinned, but injured at the same time. Risk an injury to your best wrestler going into post season for a match that doesnt even matter? What the heck were they thinking?

Carrollton cost themselves the Indian Valley match with a bad lineup, Minerva entered the duals but decided to give up which is weird, Salem performed about as expected against Louisville. Not a great weekend for the EBC unfortunately

I am looking for a box score. I am told Salem had backups at a few weights and bigger Burt was not at 26 or 32. Marlington would have had a FF at 38 or 44 which costed them the dual.
Any luck on the box score? I found a little write-up on Salem's school website and it seems Cyle Burt wrestled. Barring upsets/surprises, I was mostly curious if Kana/Hill happened and the result.

120 - Stanley pin Mayhew 18-0
126 - Buehler dec Adams 21-0

215 - McCoy pin Lester 36-30
285 - Kamperman pin Hall 36-36

Salem 37, Marlington 36 via 5th Criteria

Did not expect - nor see a reason - for Burt to be all the way up at 138 with Salem having two or three guys around that weight that can beat Hill. Maybe they thought their backup 20/26 could win. Searched for times and scores but couldn't find anything.

Final week for EBC (I think), I know Carrollton vs Minerva whats the rest of the schedule look like?
This is the final week.

Carrollton at Minerva
Marlington at Alliance
Salem at West Branch

Carrollton should run away with it. I can see them winning 6,13,26,38,44,50,57,65,90,285. If Haines is out, add in 215.

Marlington should win despite a forfeit or two. I can see wins at 6,13,20,32,50,57,65,285. If Eddy and Hancox wrestle, I like Eddy in the rematch. He had a huge lead the last time they wrestled and got stuck. 190 is a tossup depending on who Alliance sends.

Salem should win more than half the matches wrestled and get a couple FF. I can see wins at 6,13,20,26,32,38,44,50,57,285. 157 and 165 can be considered toss ups. 126 and 144 are in Salems favor but were only one-point h2h wins at EOWL.

Assuming those results, the final standings would be:

Carrollton 5-0
Salem 4-1
Minerva 3-2
Marlington 2-3
West Branch 1-4
Alliance 0-5

106 - Mitchell pin Brannon 6-0
113 - Bean pin Burt 12-0
120 - Stanley pin Mayhew 18-0
126 - Buehler dec Adams 21-0
132 - Kana pin Dunham 21-6
138 - Burt pin Stanley 21-12
144 - Marlington FF to Allen 21-18

As far as a strange lineups goes this is the weirdest one all season, maybe it was all they could put together with injuries or something but why in the world that 120-144 section and that 175-215 are they way they are is baffling

Salem is an interesting team to follow. They manage their lineups well and it is hard to project their results with their movement. I don't completely agree with the move at 20/26, though I am not super familiar with either team's guy at that spot. Moving Burt up to 38 from 32 seemed to work out. And moving their 150 up worked in their favor as well. What was different about 175-215?

I don't see their senior 190 and I'm not sure why Harmon is not a factor in their lineup either. I think with a better shuffling of results you don't need the upset pin at 215 to win the dual. But if it's all to mitigate injury that's a moot point

I missed that. I’m unfamiliar with their situation at 190, but I believe Harmon is a backup/fill in at this point in the season. I’ve seen results of him at 32/38/44. Minerva has had a similar problem with Norris, Mueller and Wallace at 113/20 as well.

Salem by 15?? I think last year they won by 20plus.
Wb wins 75 and 215. Outside shot at 20 and 65. But that's it. Salem will be prepared and once again wb will not .let's say Salem 42-18

The minimum weight to compete at Hvy is 212 so if he didn't weigh in at that or above they broke an OHSAA wrestling bylaw (1.72). The rule is in place for this very reason.

I assume he weighed in at 215, but i dont know. He wrestled 215 in the prior match. It was +4 for the day, so i dont know what that does to the min for hvy. I heard he was chugging water to get his weight up before weigh ins. Dont know if true or not. But it wasnt a size mismatch. Baldridge is only 215ish.

Right, but even if you weighed in at 205 to compete at 215, you can't bump up a weight like the other weight classes.

I'm gonna change that prediction, admittedly I wasn't super familiar with West Branch this year and had assumed they hadn't fallen off so fast. Quakers by 30+

Salem wasn’t without Burt at 126, he weighed in at 132lbs!!! So I mean sure he wasn’t at 126 lbs.
You seem to have a lot of knowledge that the public isn’t informed of. Hmmmmmmm. I read up on the EBC wrestling plenty but have never seen a weigh in sheet released to the public. You must have some great inside sources, Coach.
I would be grateful Burt was at 132, 56-21 is better than 59-15.
