Generally this is a true statement. However, if you are playing a solid, traditionally strong D5 school and you are a D3 school, it can be a plus for both programs.

I think the opening to apply is until this Friday, according to the other post. I’m sure they won’t even start to review until after the new year with the holidays coming up

Here’s what I just heard:
They are accepting applications until Dec 19 at noon. Then the plan is to hire a new football coach in January, but is somewhat dependent on the number of applicants.

Any idea who they will play week 2? Any chance of Dover playing Canfield that week?
Possibly. Just waiting to hear back once contracts are signed.

No, this Columbus Academy:
Ironically similar to Garaway in that they’re a solid D5 program. They do play mostly D2-4 sized schools, though.

well the posting is closed. As someone who is more in the Federal League footprint, I think that Dover and NP are considered area schools for us, and I think this might be the best opening in the area.
Great program tradition, I think moving to the OCC makes it a favorable league to play in that is competitive and can prepare you for tough playoff games.
I am defintely interested to see how this plays out and I would think this job attracted strong applicants.

Dover needs to play top flight D3 and good D2 teams. It will benefit them a great deal

I always thought this year was a good example of what a good schedule would look like:
As a D3 team they played 8 D2 schools and 2 D3 schools. And then they ended up getting to the final four.

I really don’t know what would be typical but with Dovers long history,the facilities the new high school large fan base and solid booster clubs it has to be attractive.

That’s what it appears to a casual observer like me.
West Branch who went 11-1 and lost to Glenville 13-0 replaces Steubenville. NP signed a two year contract with Linsley and will play them at home next season.

Not to mention re-signing with 0-10 Linsley. Think you would forego that game to have an inter-county game that would have a huge gate!

I was told they were hoping for 20 but didn’t even receive half of that. And the one candidate that’s got an edge is not even in the program…or even in the state of Ohio!
