I thought it was early but I've been wrong more times than right.

No you were 100% correct. Honestly they should have seen that it did not go 10 yards on the field but how the replay didn't pick it up is beyond me. When a team defers only to have their 2nd half possession stolen it must be disheartening. Anyone who says there isn't an officiating problem at all levels of football isn't paying attention IMO.
