No it’s based on the final 4 bracket. Home team is at the top.
I think The OHSAA would be Better served to get around
a conference table on Saturday morning following the Semi’s
@ Roselea Pl. And Flip A quarter on each of the Final Games.
The Bracket Methodology seems a bit antiquated and lacks
a certain parity to the proceedings.

Without making any comment on Hoban’s roster construction practices, this is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever read.
Irregardless of whether federal and or Ed choice voucher moneys follow the stundent out of their home district, Private schools have no district boundaries, their cherry picking is nonconsequential, atleast as far as the OHSAA goes. Most build these power house teams through monstrous trench talent. Is it fair? Hmm...
I get it, parents have the right to send their kid wherever they choose.
Heck, that's why a few have chosen Massillon. But don't make it sound like competing against these institutions in sports or academics is fair.
No excuses here, Massillon will beat Hoban this year but this only happens maybe 25% of the time, if we're lucky.
We happen to match up with Hoban in the trenches this year. All I'm saying is, GO TIGERS!

That depends on how they do it. This year it's 8/7/6/5. Last year it was 7/5/6/8. In 2021 it was 8/7/6/5. In 2020 it was 5/8/6/7.

If anyone is getting shafted there it's R6. Every other region has had a chance to be home team in the finals.

The question is how/why they draw the bracket like they do. Is it arbitrary? Is it random? Is there a discernable pattern from year to year?
Flip a coin for the final 4 bracket and then as I said top team in the bracket is home for the championship game.

See there’s the parity issue for region 6.??
Heck I know a #1 seed who has been the visitor the last 2 weeks and will be the
Visitor once again on Friday.

I really enjoyed "Historic Crew Stadium" you know it was built in 96 and has been replaced already. It is only used a a practice facility. If the Ohsaa is considering a championship venue change , I'm thinking this would be a geographical no Brainer.
I don't mind being 8 miles away from championship weekend, but it's really not fair for much of the state.

In reality it’s irrelevant as to who is home or away for the title game, other than wearing a dark jersey.
And which side of the field your fans sit on.... That away side at Benson is ridiculous... Fewer seats between the 40's due to that stupid hole for concerts as well as that frame for concert lights which they use to take down but now seems permanent... Hate going over there every other year for the McK game....

Totally agree, I never thought I would miss the drip. Truth the place did have integrity. I just wonder what this place will look like 25 years from now, when Mck senior is long gone and the district is D4.

There was a #1 seed that was the away team in regional play?
Yes. the other team complained the neutral site visitor section was not large enough for
their anticipated crowd and the OHSAA complied. This action by the rules should
have required Board ratification, which I’m sure didn’t occur. First time I have
ever heard of such craziness since 1972. But it did happen. LOL

Which is probably why when Massillon is in the final 4 they are always at the top of the bracket.
🤫😂

I’m done with that side of the field forever.
