I think OSU is the best team by a good amount. However, I think Penn St might be the most difficult team on their schedule instead of Oregon.

Oregon had a weird opener. Nearly 500 yards of offense and only scored 24 points. They lost a fumble and missed a field goal, and had 60 yards in penalties. Not exactly a lot of surface level errors. They won the turnover battle. Gabriel was really good.

Idaho had 214 yards of total offense and 10 first downs. Feels like Oregon dominated them everywhere but on the scoreboard, and likely beats the brakes off of them just about every other night.

Wish the poll results were public. Would love to know who voted for Wisconsin, Nebraska and to a lesser extent Penn State.

The Michigan game was much closer than the final score indicated. Michigan only outgained Fresno st by 25 yards (269 - 244). Their inability to sustain drives was frequently bailed out by their new FG kicker who comfortably converted from 45, 53, and 55 yards. Donovan Edwards had a poor showing (13 total touches, 27 yards, 1 TD) and the receiving corps was non-existent outside of TE Colston Loveland. Fresno St received votes to win the Mountain West in the league's preseason poll, so this may pan out as a respectable win, but there are still plenty of questions going into the Texas game next week.

You’re a clown!
No one actually believes Ohio State is playing one of the toughest schedules annually. Usually they are essentially playing a three-game season or thereabouts, mixed in with around nine MAC and Big Ten creampuffs.

This year is another three-game season: Oregon, Penn State, Michigan. Frankly, only the first two of those appear to be good. Michigan looked mediocre last night and is likely to take a major step backwards this year.

Ohio State bias aside - I think Texas wins by 14+.

They don’t have to be. They need to rise above mediocrity, though. They had a winnable home game against a respectable Power 4 opponent, and like most schools in the B1G, they lost.
These Big Ten schools that have been mired in mediocrity for ages while riding the financial gravy train on the coattails of Ohio State and Michigan are in for a rude awakening now that there are more than 2 1/2 competent programs in the conference.

Perhaps. I'm pretty sure Penn St would be fine. So would Nebraska. Purdue has a 61,000 seat stadium and 40,000 sold out season tickets and their athletic budget is independent of the university. You might be overstating a bit. The networks are going to pay for entertainment.

Would be nice if USC could somehow find a way in this game. They are equal if not better athletically than LSU they just need to be more aggressive defensively. These LSU receivers don’t impress me so they need to be pressing these guys and getting after Nussmeier more.

Lincoln Riley and Ryan Day are cut from the same cloth. Both have a very hard time calling offense in the biggest games at the biggest moments

Would be nice if USC could figure it out. No program in the country has a higher ceiling IMO.

They showed a graphic of 2003 how USC and LSU split titles. Tbh LSU is lucky they didn’t play USC because they would have lost.

The SEC got very lucky alot of season avoiding Pete Carrolls teams between 03-09 or else they don’t win a lot of those titles.

Big Ten is 17-1 after the first week. Some conference games next week. Michigan plays Texas and Illinois plays Kansas next week. Wisconsin plays Alabama week 3.

Highest ceiling? USC, Texas, Georgia. Those three programs have massive advantages in proximity of talent, location, tradition, money and quality of the school itself. They should never lose.

Yes. Considering their location and history. They are the ultimate program if they could figure it out again.

Nonsense...The Buckeyes have a few cupcakes but typically schedule a worthy out of conference opponent. Add the conference grind and championship, that's a tough schedule. Let me know the other schools that "play a much more challenging schedule".
WHO does OSU play that has EVER been a tough out in nonconference?

HOW SO? UGA NEVER gets most of who they want IN state. Just this last offseason, the Bulldogs lost out on a FIVE star TE and a FOUR star WR from Colquitt Co., who went to FSU, and the U. They had already lost out on a kid who spurned FSU AND UGA, to sign with the Screaming Eagles of BOSTON COLLEGE, QB1, THOMAS CASTELLANOS of Waycross, Georgia. He had previously lost out in the GHSA State Playoffs to Tyreek Hills alma mater, Coffee High. UGA had recruited him as a WIDE RECEIVER. And they lost out on the kid who moved to Buford, Ga. to play QB1, to play for the DAWGS. And THEN, decided to play for his pappy's alma mater, NEBRASKA, where he is currently the FRESHMAN STARTER at QB1. UGA also lost out on a future four year starting kicker for FSU, Ryan Fitzgerald, of Colquitt Co. He recently kicked a fifty nine yard FG in Ireland, that was said to be his career best. ACTUALLY, he kicked a sixty yarder against Archer in the GHSA 7A State Playoffs, in 2020. HECK, UGA hasn't signed a RB from the state, since they got three year starter Daijun Edwards from Colquitt Co., in 2020.

In FACT, UGA had to reach into the portal NINE TIMES last season. And all but TWO contributed to the effort against the Purple Tigas from Clemson. LOOKS as though we've found a new LADD McConkey, in the Vandy transfer, London Humphreys.

Sounds like Kirby is a dog shi+ in state recruiter.

Win or lose this game Northwestern just needs kicked out of the Big Ten. Another program that has no semblance of a 21st century offense. I remember in the early 00s they were at least fun to watch while still sucking.

They haven’t been fun to watch in a long time and drags this conference down
