Thank goodness Oregon was added to the Big ten, but even with that, it is the weakest of the major conferences, and it's not close. Ohio State will be a double digit favorite in all of their games except the Oregon game. And with the expanded playoffs, both will get in so how much does that game mean now??? I've said all along the expanded playoffs is a joke. It's bad for the game and here is why. The regular season games do not mean near as much now. That game in Oregon in a few months, meaningless. Both are in the playoffs. Michigan? They will drop WAY off now. It's not the same team at all. Penn State and Wisconsin will be in the next tier with Michigan, but likely bubble teams for the playoff.

My answer is they all play cupcakes for their OOC games. Every once in awhile there is a team or 2 that will have 1 decent OOC game. That is very normal.
lol. No. Ohio State has been playing a team from a major conference for as far back as I can remember. Michigan recently has not, until this year when they have Texas.

If Notre Dame joins the BIG you will be singing a different tune. Penn State thought they were going to rule the roost when they joined. But that didn’t happen.

Please Don’t drink and post. Worse major conference? 😂

You must of been the guy at the bar at closing time taking home the ugly chick
So you think the Big ten is a good football conference, top to bottom, or you're a big Buckeye fan and love the easy slide to the playoffs that they've enjoyed ever since the playoff system was installed.

I'd love them to do a SEC/B1G matchup week.

They should, but the issue with that is most SEC teams play a legitimate schedule, not a bunch of cupcakes. The SEC schedule in itself is better. Ohio State gets Northwestern, Indiana, Nebraska, Michigan State and Purdue, to add to Akron, Western Michigan and Marshall? That's 8 wins that will be 25-30 points or more just by showing up.

Are you serious? The SEC traditions is play a crappy team before rivalry week.

The bottom of the Big Ten is way better than the bottom of the Big 12 and ACC. Also the the top of the Big Ten is way better than those 2 conferences. If you can’t see that then you don’t know college football

Ok, whatever you say. 😂

“Worst major conference” could be true if you accept that there are only two major conferences now.
From last year’s 247 composite roster rankings…

Current SEC — 13 of the top-30 rosters
Current Big Ten — 10 of the top-30 rosters
ACC — 5 of the top-30 rosters
Notre Dame 11th, TCU 19th

Big Ten added schools that were ranked 8th, 10th, 24th, and 26th in composite roster strength last year.

SEC is pretty loaded this year. More so than last year. Big Ten not far behind and better than last year as well IMO (overall - before any UM fans jump me).

Georgia, Bama, Ole Miss, and Texas are all very legit, and all of which return their starting QBs and supporting talent.

Ohio State, Oregon, and Penn State are right there as well. I also believe Iowa will be very good with a new OC and scheme and I look for Nebraska to turn a corner this season (both return a bunch - with many being seniors).

Anyone see Sherrone Moore's interview from B10 media day? Wow is that guy drinking his own kool-aid.

Big Ten still isn’t as good as the SEC. Thank God Michigan beat Bama last year to at least get back in the discussion of being the best conference but the Big Ten is by no means the worst conference either.

What did Sherrone “born on 3rd base” Moore have to say?

Just call em as I sees em!

So it was only easy for Ohio State?

Ohio State has been at or near the top of the big ten for 50 years, over the last 15-20 years, the league has got worse. They have little to no competition to qualify for the playoffs.
I think it has more to do with Ohio State getting better, than the others getting worse.

Just slightly. But the major issue is the inferior schedule the Buckeyes get to play, year after year when other schools play a much more challenging schedule. At least with the few additions to the big ten, and the change in the big ten championship game, it's not a cakewalk as much.

You can pretty much mark it down today. Ohio State/ Oregon play in the regular season, and they'll likely play in the big ten championship game, and honestly both will likely make the playoffs.
