Dantonio's title will he associate head coach. I would take that to mean he would be more of an administrator and advisor.
There’s still the general accusation that Dantonio looked the other way to sexual assault allegations committed by players under his watch, which is where I’m coming from like “uhhhhh…..” given the context in which he is returning.

The irony escaped me. Sparty with Nassar and OSU with Strauss do have a credibility problem in that regard.

Maryland currently getting clobbered by Virginia. Like I said earlier, this is one of the worst looking seasons the Big Ten has had in a long time. No title contenders and the average teams are even worse this season.

Maryland turned it around and eventually blew Virginia out thank God. Even if it were a close game it would have been a major indictment and thankfully it wasn’t

Really hoping Indiana fires Tom Allen and then hires Justin Frye. Frye has been a total dud in Columbus and would make it easier for Ryan to get rid of him.

Big 10 week three results:

Ohio State 63 Western Kentucky 10
Penn State 30 Illinois 13
North Carolina 31 Minnesota 13
Duke 38 Northwestern 14
Iowa 41 Western Michigan 10
Louisville 21 Indiana 14
Wisconsin 35 Georgia Southern 14
Rutgers 35 VPI 16
Maryland 42 UVA 14
Washington 41 Sparty 7
Nebraska 35 Northern Illinois 11
Syracuse 35 Purdue 20
Michigan 31 Bowling Green 6

No real surprises so far. Does Schiano have Rutgers trending up?

Yep, the poor old ACC went 4-2 against the Big 10. Overall the Big 10 was 7-5 out of conference but only 2-5 against Power 5 teams.

The Big 10 East remains Michigan, OSU, and PSU, with Maryland capable of being a spoiler.

Big Ten West is anybody's guess.
Big Ten East looks solid but as of now I don’t see a true title contender. Big Ten West is the worst I’ve ever seen it. Just absolute god awful dumpster fire football.

Big 10 results week ending 9/23/23

Ohio State 17 Notre Dame 14
Michigan 31 Rutgers 7
Penn State 31 Iowa 0
Wisconsin 38 Purdue 17
Illinois 23 Florida Atlantic 17
Nebraska 28 Louisiana Tech 14
Maryland 31 Michigan State 0
Indiana 29 Akron 27
Northwestern 37 Minnesota 34 (OT)

Brian Ferentz trending down with 85 points in 4 games. Now below his target of 25 ppg.

Penn St had the most complete win today. Are they the team to beat?

To answer your question…no. Franklin will screw it up and PSU is not as talented as OSU. Michigan? Maybe.

Iowa had 76 yards of offense and four turnovers last night. That is impossibly bad. When they get around to firing Brian Ferentz, they should remove his daddy, too. Time’s up for the Ferentz family.

Outside of the big three, the rest of the Big Ten should be ashamed of themselves. A lot of these are wretchedly bad. If we think these teams are irrelevant now, wait until next year when USC, Oregon and Washington show up to totally wipe them out. Might as well relegate teams like Indiana, Rutgers and even Minnesota at this point.

I couldn’t agree more.

There is only so much elite talent to go around. So I'm not sure much will change, or can change.

The conference desperately needs Fickle to bring Wisconsin back. Good lord is the West terrible.
It doesn’t really need that. It just needs the three main Pac 12 teams to come in strong next year, so the conference will functionally be six oligarchs (USC, Washington, Oregon, OSU, Michigan, Penn State) and a bunch of serfs to beat up on. The New Big Ten might fulfill its destiny of becoming America’s version of the English Premier League, where the same six teams vastly outspend the loser cannon-fodder teams in the league to ensure a nearly unbreakable caste system.
