Its getting close! Im excited to see what happens this year in the WOAC. My early top 4 teams are as follow:
1. Arcanum
2. Bradford
3. Dixie
4. TCN
1. Arcanum
2. Bradford

4. TCN
Arcanum is probably correct, only 2 starters lost to grad. Christ and every other varsity arm back they should be the favorite. Its getting close! Im excited to see what happens this year in the WOAC. My early top 4 teams are as follow:

Arcanum is the team to beat, but you're right, Trail is dangerous. Newton always finds a way to be at the top of the league no matter what we think in the preseason.I kinda forgot about NT, i think they can be at the top with Arc. Not sure Im sold on Newton this year.
Did Bradford get a coach? I thought I heard it was open for awhile.
It means they challenged themselves in non league games!Strength of schedule helped Dixie and Arcanum last year.
When the league champion has a losing record overall, that says what?

Coach Baker is the best coach in the league. I have a lot respect for the program he has built and the success he has had over the years. He always seems to get the best out of his players, and they play hard. Doesn't matter if its a WOAC game or if they're playing a Shelby County team, they can play with anybody.I also believe we have a decent non conference schedule but usually against smaller schools. I asked Coach B a few years back why they don’t schedule bigger schools and he mentioned with being a small school and limited arms we are usually throwing our 4,5,6 vs non conference teams. So makes sense why the small baseball schools usually stick with playing other small schools.
I believe we got the talent so Arc to win the league
Dixie in the mix and I just realized the big tall righty from Newton is back so I’m sure they will be fighting for league again.
League Champs since WOAC started
24- Dixie 1st, Newton/Arc 2nd
23-Arc 1st, Newton 2nd
22- Newton and Arc 1st
It will be interesting to see how things go with a new coach too. Hopefully they can find some stability, and he stays more than a couple years.Bradford lost 5 starters and their top 2 pitchers from last year so it will probably be a rebuilding year for them. They had good tournament runs the last 2 years winning district titles each year. I think they're the only WOAC baseball team to win a district title.
Who did they get? Didn't know if Canaan would take over or not.Bradford lost 5 starters and their top 2 pitchers from last year so it will probably be a rebuilding year for them. I'm not sure who it is. I heard it was someone in the school or someone who had been an assistant previously.Who did they get? Didn't know if Canaan would take over or not.
It's Jake Cline. 2013 Bradford grad.I'm not sure who it is. I heard it was someone in the school or someone who had been an assistant previously.
I agree Arcanum will be number 1! I’m not sure anyone will be able to beat them. I see them rubbing the table this year. I’m not sure the last time a team has went undefeated in league play but this is the year. Any teams been outside yet? I know a few teams have nice fields that drain well but not sure enough to keep up.1. Arcanum
2. Newton
3. Dixie
4.Trail/North
WOAC overall lost a TON of talented kids. I think the league will be down overall in total. Arcanum and Newton are always fighting for league while Dixie has the arm talent to compete with anyone. Trail and North I believe bring back quite a bit from last years squad.
The Tigers lose nearly everything to graduation. This might be the youngest team they’ve ever fielded. I think they can compete for middle of the pack but the arm situation is worrisome. Losing their 1-3 AND their catcher to graduation.
Excited to see some better weather (maybe)
I believe it’s the year Arcanum runs it too. Baker always does an incredible job but as mentioned always drops a random game to put them in a fight. I expect Newton to be outside of course with the turf outside that I’m not too sure. Great week in terms of higher temps just still a lot of moisture in the ground.I agree Arcanum will be number 1! Baseball program brings in a LOT more money than the girls. Plus Kopp does an excellent job hosting different events and fundraising. Besides, turf on a baseball field is a lot different than softball which already plays more compact as it is wouldn’t necessarily end well. How did Newton get turf without the softball program getting it? Who will be the next team in the WOAC to add turf? 300K seems expensive
Baker always gets his numbers. Glad to hear TV is back numbers wise and TCN was a pretty young squad a year ago I believe could make a run. I believe Bradford/Gville scrimmage on Friday. Ansonia welcomes Botkins Monday or Tuesday.Arcanum is in the mid 20s. I heard TCN and Tri V have decent numbers. Any scrimmages so far?
Heard today that seniors Canan and Manuel are switching to track. Bradford loses their top 4 pitchers from last year. Gonna have to have some kids step up.Speaking with a former Bradford player it sounds like they have multiple returners not playing because of track.
Ansonia also lost basically their entire pitching staff. Interested to see how the Bradford Gville JV scrimmage unravelsHeard today that seniors Canan and Manuel are switching to track. Bradford loses their top 4 pitchers from last year. Gonna have to have some kids step up.
