2024 OHSAA Girls Volleyball Statewide Brackets

The Top 5 divisions all have a Catholic team from the Cincinnati area in the final 4
Yes- in years past, they were forced to knock one another off to get out of the region.

I wonder if the OHSAA and the publics in particular are pleased/disappointed with the new setup. On one hand, schools like Turpin and Mason were able to finally win a district title because they avoided the GGCL. Now instead of having to beat MND, Ursuline, and Seton to get out of the region- you just have to beat one of them.

On the other hand- now teams like Fenwick, Bacon, Ursuline, SUA, and Seton all get to advance to the state final four.

Mcnick got their kicked and there are videos of girls on their team showing a complete lack of sportsmanship after the match. Hopefully the school does the right thing and explains to these girls why their behavior is classless and a bad reflection on the school, program, and them as an individual.

It is going to be this way every season and this is why the teams in the GGCL decided not to move up for the playoffs. I think there are going to be some matches in the State Final Four that will be very lopsided. OHSSA needs to figure out how to balance things a little better for the Regions.

4 of the 5 Cincinnati schools play their state semi=final matches today. Seton starts Friday.
D2 - St. Ursula vs Wadsworth - 8PM at Kettering Fairmont
D3 - Ursuline vs Watterson - 7PM at Clayton Northmont
D4 - Roger Bacon vs Warren - 530 at Vandalia Butler
D5 - Fenwick vs Ottawa Glandorf - 400 at Wright State

Well wishes to Roger Bacon's Mariah Gaines. She tore her ACL late in their regional final match against McNick. Mariah is Roger Bacon's 1st Team All-State Outside Hitter committed to Toledo. The injury obviously impacts Roger Bacon on the court but I wouldn't completely count out this groups fighting character.

Would you elaborate? I tried to find a video of the match on NFHS network but couldn’t
