2024 Massillon Tigers

Who cares about last year's fight. You play the game it's not our job to take it easy on them. They have a running clock now that old argument of "running up the score" is dead. That is point of it to avoid getting your butt kicked anymore than you already have been. You play the game and take it to them UNTIL that running clock! Shoot hang 50 on Mck then maybe they will quit playing us and we won't have to entertain them thugs no more in week 10 and can find a real rivalry. Don't think for a second it Mck gets up by a couple of scores and gets Massillon to roll over they won't continue to pound us. They will pound it till they can't no more. Blow these bums out straight from the start just like last year. Let them go back to that cesspool knowing that they aren't remotely close to being on the same level as us.

TIG fans - Would you say this team is better, the same, or worse than last years team? Out of curiosity. I haven't watched any games this year

Predict whatever you want but I will never predict a blowout vs. McKinley, I seen too many of these. Year before a 9-1 team that beat eventual D1 state champ only beat a 5-5 McKinley team 23-13. Word to the wise.
Exactly!! I played in 3 of these games. My sophomore year we were expected to beat them pretty handily and they kicked our @$$. My junior year we were both about even and the game went to overtime in a mud bowl the last game played on natural grass at Paul Brown tiger stadium then my senior year they were expected to run all over us with their running backs and we beat them down. If we jump out on them pretty quickly 21 to 0 the game will be over. From that point on we have to guard against all the bull crap they're going to start.

I've seen many games too and your right I've seen the team with a great record lose to the team with a bad one. We use to always say anything can happen in this rivalry. However......... That hasn't been the case recently. The better team has been winning as of late.Of course a few close games so you never know. Yes I remember that 2022 Mck team they came into the game hot and motivated they started out 0-4 and won 5 straight coming into the game against Massillon. We won't be facing that type of Mck team this year. Anything can happen but unless we play like crap and they play way over their heads this should be a route.

If your talking about Massillon I'm not going to sugar coat it we are not nowhere near as good.We are also still good enough to win a title. We can throw better than last year but we have no X Factor in a running QB like Owens. Let's face it the kid was unstoppable till the title game. We have the same offensive attack we had the last 5 years when we had Hartson and Thomas. Powerful running game with Gamble but will throw to keep the defense on its heels.Defense is good but nothing close to last year.Last years defense teams COULD NOT run on us to save their lives. This year if your line is big enough you will be able to gain plenty of yard on the ground. Our pass coverage to me looks a little bit soft this year. Bend don't break mentality with this group.Last years defense was incredible teams would struggle to move the ball.

Agree it we jump on them quick they will roll over and we will blow them out. Even though some might find it strange being up by 14 and going for a onside kick last year I thought that was genius by Moore. We had them down nice and he went for the knockout early to remove any little bit of air that they had left in them.

Interesting. Assuming they win R7, will be exciting to see if they can come out on top over the Walsh/Hoban or Avon. Assuming R8 winner won't be competitive enough, but maybe Anderson is

I'm sure Anderson is tough they just beat Winton Woods by 14. Last year they added insult to injury against Massillon when they kept going for it on 4th down and medium or long when on their own side of the field. It was suicide for them giving Massillon short fields when they already couldn't stop them.

Brady Berg was the SW District POY at rb. 5 carries, 9 yards. Safe to say they didn't see that coming. Like you said though we did. But that was last year's D. Legendary.

Mckinley btw got -15 net. 🤕

Yeah I think McKinley finished with something like 62 yards of total offense last year 😂 As for Anderson yes we smacked them but that was last year. A offense like that may give this defense fits.

It was 23-7 until mck scored with about 2 min left, that game was never in doubt. The games in 17’, 18’ and 19’ were at least competitive.

I believe they have only punted once or twice this whole season so far.

That's a crazy and stupid method. I mean if works I guess it works, but last year against Massillon they converted one 4th down, but still continued to go for it on 4th even though we kept stopping it. They just kept digging themselves a hole and decided to continue.

They probably just felt since they did it all year they aren’t going to change how they play for one game. They were 3 of 9 on 4th down conversions against us, but it never mattered they were never in that game. The funny thing is we never punted in that game.
Another crazy stat from last year is that we only punted 34 times the entire season, we have already punted 35 times this year.

Oh they did better than I thought. I thought they only picked one up early in the game their first attempt. Well even so I can understand not changing how they play but when it's not working and your giving a team a short field and they are piling on the points it's time to stop

You have to consider the quality of opponent when looking at that punting stat. I think this years regular season schedule is tougher relative to last.

It has to do with with tougher schedule this year and the fact we are definitely not the same team as last year as well

Massillon 18 McKinley. 12
