2024 ECC Football

WC runs pistol with one running back or empty. Lots of qb power with h backs as extra blockers. Almost a peewee type offense but it works. Very basic but tline is big and backs run violently. Qb is pretty slippery.

Thanks....I was curious what WC was running out of on offense. Their QB has only attempted 14 passes through 5 games. They rushed for 400 yards against Milford and only attempted 4 passes. Thought maybe they brought back the wishbone.

When they run against a good front seven in the D-1 playoffs, their season will be over.

That could be said for just about anyone.

I haven't seen WC play this year, and I'm not about to claim they are are even remotely close to competing with the best in the region. With that being said, to make it to regional finals and further, you have to run the ball. Period. Fans love the passing game, but the ability to pound the rock is what wins. It doesn't have to be uniquely creative or fun to watch. But running the ball, not passing is the key to success for well over 95% of teams in the state of Ohio.

At the half:

Turpin 7 - West Clermont 0
Winton Woods 14 - Little Miami 0
Kings 17 - Lebanon 7

Little Miami becomes the first ECC team to score a touchdown on Winton Woods' defense this year as QB Camden Fox engineers a great drive and caps it off with a 17-yard TD pass to WR Grayer Williams on 4th-and-6.

Kings is looking like Mr Hyde tonight to last week’s Dr Heckyll. The coaches have done a great job coming in with a new offensive game plan. Carson Lindholm probably has 150 yards at around 10/carry, with four TD. Hopefully the offense goes through him the rest of the way, and I would expect them to’finush very strong.

West Clermont beats Turpin, 17-14, as Bo Rickman leads a go-ahead TD drive in the final minutes and the defense holds on.

The Wolves are 4-2, have won 3 of their last 4, and host Walnut next week with a chance to match their highest regular-season win total since the first year of their existence in 2017.

Winton Woods puts away a surprisingly resilient Little Miami team, 41-14, never managing to turn on the running clock.

Nothing interesting from the Saturday games. Anderson over Milford 57-6 and Loveland over Walnut 34-6.

Everybody should blow out Lebanon there offense will be on the field for 3 plays. Then the punt could be 5 yards
There were a number of punts that went further vertically than horizontally. I was kind of wondering why they bothered to punt after a couple of quarters.

Because if it's more then 3rd 5 the QB will have to run for his life(oline bad). The only thing that works is running with #6.

WC playing well with punishing run game. Have pulled out a couple close ones. Turpin should have could have won last night but couldn't seal it after a WC turnover. Then the Wolves win it with their only completion of the night for a 40 yd TD.
Anderson vs WWoods in week 9 determines the league.

Highest single-season completion percentage in ECC history (min. 100 attempts):

Justice Burnam, 2024 (so far) - 71.8%
Justice Burnam, 2023 - 70.9%
Luke Brand, 2023 - 68.6%
Griffin Scalf, 2021 - 68.4%
Austin Hardin, 2022 - 68.2%

West Clermont shuts out Walnut, 30-0. The Walnut offense has failed to score points in 4 of their 7 games thus far.

Kings has looked excellent the last two weeks. I think they are poised for a playoff run. Anderson and LaSalle and maybe Harrison are the only teams I think can beat them. (Xenia seems to dominate their league then go out early, no?)

They can go until they run in to Anderson and maybe LaSalle

I love how when LM gets blown out they don't post the stats in the box score on the league website. This has happened numerous times this year. As a stats guy who's job it was to report stats to the website ( and wayyy back call the all the news stations and papers to report scores) this drives me crazy. Just laziness on the coaching staff. I'm sure they can't wait for a Week 11 trip to either Moeller or West. At least when we were D2 we didn't have to do this playoff charade after a 1 win season.

Amen! I hate it when teams don’t post the stats. It’s just laziness!
