But 3 does look like your best athlete any small guard can run Fb dives all night which is pretty much what Carlisle has. I understand Henson role and expected it. But am amazed without 11 Malara on the field how our D looked got marched on all 1st half is concerning! Shows I guess when you have 2 college level talents how they can change a team.

Yeah they definitely made the difference. Just didn’t understand coach got away from what was working in first half. I know teams make adjustments at half, but he didn’t even attempt it in 3rd quarter. Think he was just happy he didn’t get 60 hung on him lol. Clod is okay with being below average. I agree Malara made a big impact on defense for sure. Henson have any offers yet?
Has been extremely underrated and recruited in my opinion. Henson camped at several MAC schools Toledo and Kent but going into this year the only offers he posted about was OAC some D3 schools, I expect things to heat up especially if they have a nice playoff run. Hopefully what got him sat out Friday isn’t part of the issue coaches are hearing about. I don’t know
Yeah he has been blessed with some athleticism, hopefully his off the field things don’t affect him. I know he has some athletic family members as well. Sister is at Wright st playing basketball and think older brother played football at Findlay if I’m not mistaken.
Baseball is a whole different animal at Carlisle. They have only had 4 head coaches in the last 40 something years. All were in house teachers/employees. Continuity and familiarity matters.

Well if they stand there and let Carlisle control the line then Carlisle will March down the field 3 yards a play fullback dives and a occasional pitch out if Franklin shoots gaps and blows plays up in the backfield and take away the edge pitch to 3 make them play 3rd and long then yes. I would expect after last week Franklin wins if the players want it Carlisle seems handcuffed by the scheme.
After Fenwick I thought things were fixed on the offensive side but they absolutely got destroyed in the A gap all night and kept trying to run their base flexbone offense. There was 4 to 5 times that the QB and FB got tackled in the backfield together. Hughes sold out on the QB/FB read and it paid off. Not having an effective wing really hurt but they’re really was no play calls to make Hughes stop attacking the A gap either. Pass defense was atrocious but a lot of credit to Hughes QB, he is a gamer and was able to run around at will until someone was open.
Hughes QB TJ Engleman always has been a gamer. Used to play AAU basketball with my son Jaylin and is committed to play football at East Carolina. Tough kid, I’m surprised they haven’t started the season better than they have…
Franklin by 21 . They are too strong I think for Carlisle. Question? Who is the QB at Carlise? Is he a difference maker ? Is he capable of running this exciting offense people want?

How did VV only have 11 plays the entire first half? Their defense must be suspect if Carlisle was able to move the ball. I mean they know what’s coming and could not stop it? That’s not a state caliber team if that’s the case .
VV sat multiple starters including their all state caliber LB for the first half for disciplinary reasons, had to play 4 players out of position on defense to compensate, when they all came back in the 2nd half it was a completely different game
Franklin QB had his best game against CJ. Kid is a gamer and will lead the Cats to a 14th straight victory over Carlisle.
Looking at stats from that game, you had a Rb go over a 100 yards against a very good team who hasn’t given up more than 50 yards to any kid yet. He did it on 14 Carries. You also had a kid who had 28 for 78. Then Qb looks like he had 9 for -4. Now VV did have missing pieces in first half but to me it’s obvious the dive wasn’t working. VV was prepared and ready for it. Carlisle was getting the edge in 1st half then completely went away from #3 in 3rd quarter. Think Carlisle had 3 drives in 3rd quarter and didn’t have 1 first down. Needless to say Henson did his thing and it was a 21-0 quarter for VV. Like I said in previous statements, I’m Old and not around all the time and can just go on what I see and hear from people. So I don’t know all the ins and outs of it. To me it looks like Clod is okay with being mediocre and not trying to win. 30 seconds to go before half Carlisle has the ball around midfield and they don’t run a play? To me that says he is happy with 7-7. At least run a dive or a pitch to try and break one. My thoughts anyway. Just didn’t want 60 hung on him.
Was looking at stats for Franklin, is there something up with Monk kid? Rushing yards haven’t been updated at all at least the last time I looked. Looks like the Carter is having a nice season catching the ball.

Josh Carter has been a great player for Franklin this year. He was the only one who scored in the first few games. (Not counting the extra points on field goals). That kid has some potential!
