Seton has some potential. Just dont think the coaching staff understands what they have. The head coach has been at a few different stops and just doesnt seem like the guy to take the basketball program to the next level. I think as a school the basketball team is looked at more for fun and not a competitive sport. Think the mentality has to change through out for them to get where they have the potential to be.

Based on enrollment #'s this would be D1 in SW Ohio for 2024-25 Girls hoops:
23 schools----Fairfield, Mason, Hamilton, Lakota East, Lakota West, Centerville, Oak Hills, West Clermont, Fairmont, Walnut Hills, Beavercreek, Springboro, Milford, Springfield, Colerain, Princeton, Western Hills, Middletown, Wayne, Lebanon, Miamisburg, Sycamore, Mt. Notre Dame
Now how that would be broken down to having all 23 teams between Cincinnati and Dayton or possibly 16 teams in Cincinnati and the 7 most north schools be combined with Columbus D1 schools--those decisions forthcoming.
These teams become D2 for next year from D1 this year:
Winton Woods, Little Miami, St. Ursula, Kings, Seton, Troy, Harrison, Loveland, Anderson, Edgewood, and Xenia
These teams become D3 from D1 this year:

Middletown or Lebanon are the furthest north school to Dayton---Sycamore is further south than both Lakota's, Mason, Fairfield and Hamilton
All true, but thats why they will all be in that group of 16. I guess you could put those schools with the Dayton schools(Centerville, Creek etc) but then what do you do with the few true Cincinnati schools left??? Would Milford, Oak Hills, Walnut etc have to travel to Columbus???
If its 64 teams for DI and DII, its going to be 16 teams in 4 divisions

I agree it's going to be 16 in each region---I agree with your 7 Dayton schools to Columbus:
(7) Centerville, Fairmont, Beavercreek, Springboro, Springfield, Wayne, Miamisburg---no need to add Sycamore as those 7 make 16 in Cincinnati sectional or region.

I heard Seton played their game very conservative vs Mt Healthy; almost like the method of "let's not lose this game". Seton should be a lot better than they are with all the talent they have. They have had back to back very successful freshman and JV seasons, but nothing is transitioning on the varsity level. Their strength of schedule is pretty weak and they have lost a lot of games they shouldn't have. They struggle to put teams away and play a lot of very close games against very bad teams. On the flip side, they get blown out by teams that are better than them where it's not even a game. Head scratcher over in Price Hill....

Very young program all around and they have some talent. Even cut a bunch of borderline juniors so they wouldn't have to keep those kids as seniors. Still seem to be underachieving all around, but could figure it out in the next couple years. Seton's number will likely only continue to rise so they should have some talent if they can get the kids to buy in to basketball the way they do soccer and volleyball.

As a Seton parent myself , I hope those aren’t Seton parents.
Seton has some improving to do. Let’s just keep it at that. It’s a great school with an opportunity to have some really good basketball teams in the near future.
I hope we beat them by 90: ). C. Gray is a damn good coach and WW plays fast and physical. It’s going to be a tough one. Our girls have the potential to make this a good game; they also have the capability to lose site of who they are and get pounded. Let’s hope it isn’t the latter!

Just curious how are you judging "really good"?
I do give them a lot of credit that they step up and play Alter, Badin, West Clermont and a couple others but they probably need to beef up their out of conference schedule. Outside MND and the 5 out of conference losses to very good teams - what were the other teams overall winning %'s? My guess is most if not all the out of conference teams they beat this year probably haven't had a winning record in years. In the GGCL, not including MND plus Seton this year, UA is the only school to have a winning record in the past 4 years and that was only one year. Dropping most of those lower tier non conference teams and scheduling more top 5 ECC & GMC teams would be a better gauge of where they are at as a basketball program.
But BIG congrats this year for their first winning season in who knows how long!

Seton has zero quality wins in the last two years, but they have made strides in back to back years with 10+ wins; accredited to a new coaching staff, weak schedule, and better players attending the school.
According to previous posts, they played a gauntlet pre-season scrimmage schedule of Springboro, Winton Woods, Milford, and East but none of that showed with their results this year. Outside of MND, the GGCL is horrible basketball to watch. If you put Seton in the ECC or GMC, they would be near the bottom. I am hoping they beef up the schedule, but pending the new division expansions, you have to wonder will the RPI still stick around?

The ECC is proving that it was a very tough league. Coach Click and Coach Lazar received lots of flack on this site at the beginning of the year. Both had seasons way better than expected, and both are in sectional finals.

Kings is the ECC team you should be shouting out.
They went and played Wayne, Bellbrook, and Fairmont and beat Lakota West.
West Clermont is riding the advantage of playing a non conference schedule of Talawanda, Seton, Mt. Healthy, and Ursuline to get a high seed resulting in wins over Middletown and Northwest in the tourney? I’d hope they’d be in a sectional final.
Walnut non conference schedule not much better: Middletown, Mt. Healthy?
Didn’t expect Walnut to be in a sectional final but not sure what to be impressed with unless one of those 2 make it to a district game, which on paper WC should as the higher seed…
