Cincinnati Area Public HS Basketball Coaching Salary Guide

I do understand the concept of this thread. I have just discovered in the tri state area that admin and a d's seem to limit their search to a teacher who can coach rather than trying to find the best coach possible,, regardless if he/she is a teacher or not. Great points expressed by all

Or it could be just the opposite if the potential coach has a job/business where he can make his own schedule and be just as available as any in house teacher to be able to do those things

Fair enough.. I agree with you. I also think you can develop relationships with the kids even if you are not "in the building" because of the time you really spend with them. I was just saying that administrators and a d's need to be open minded when searching for a coach and just just limit...

Cincinnati Area Public HS Basketball Coaching Salary Guide

That is not laughable. So are you concluding that someone has to be a full-time school employee to be a good coach??? Depends on the individual. That is the problem with most local administrators and athletic directors. Very rarely do they even look at a coach who has an outside job. That...

OHSAA needs to create new divisional placement

One last thought. Division 1 definitely needs to be divided into 2 divisions Huge discrepancy in numbers from the smallest D1 school to the biggest D1 school

OHSAA needs to create new divisional placement

There is a simple solution to all of this. For the sake of this discussion lets divide schools into 2 basic catergories. Category A "traditional public school where the athletes have to live in that district to be able to play. Category B " parochial/private/prep/open enrollment...

    5th Division Coming ???

Fair enough. If a public school has open enrollment then yes, that does open up a whole new debate. I still think that with the large discrepancy in Div 1 it definitley should be split.. Again just a thought

    5th Division Coming ???

This is a simple solution Many states ( PA, MD, TN, LA, TX, VA, NY, NJ, NC, CT) just to name a few have had separate playoffs for years. The public and non public schools can play each other during the regular season, but compete in separate state tournaments. No matter how you slice it or...

There are no divisions in the NAIA All in the same division It depends on the school as far as funding . My daughter played at an NAIA school, women's soccer, top ten program , got appox 60% of school paid between soccer and academics

NAIA schools absolutely give athletic scholarships. Not all of them have the same resources and give the same amount.. At the D3 level you cannot give "performance" grant in aid $$$ but they do put together "packages" for student athletes in the for of athletic/endowments/work study/ etc
