This grossly distorts the racial breakdown of mass murderers. If you go by their demographic representation in the US white men are underrepresented as mass murderers.

Good point. Do you think there's any cause and effect then as to why as a percentage of their population, more blacks are in prison than whites? Could it be as simple as how many murders each race commits, and the Africans are simply more prolific in that category?

I think it's fair to say that it has been proven beyond a shadow of doubt that African American men commit a grossly disproportionate number of homicides and more broadly violent crime then any other demographic in America. It's also important to note that the number of Black violent criminals is only a small proportion of the total number of Black men in America.

The "just another day in America" comment caught my eye. If that were true, this wouldn't be news. It's news because the Left's demand for white supremacy is greater than the supply. They need one of these every now and then because the "dog whistle" and subliminal stuff gets a little stale.

The difference between the Left and Right is a white supremacist kills a bunch of people and everyone on the Right wants to hang the guy from a tree while a naive do-good kid defends himself during a riot from people trying to kill him and everyone on the Left wants to hang that kid from a tree - even after being found not guilty on all counts.

Uh, no you/we can't add "common sense" restrictions. The Left is bereft of common sense, so giving them that inch will result in an annihilation of the right altogether.

Our natural rights enumerated in the Bill of Rights were granted by our Creator. These are negative rights, meaning no govt is permitted to infringe on them: "Congress shall make no law..." Some rare limits have been allowed to be placed on some of those rights (speech that directly leads to harm), but the government has the burden to prove the necessity of the limit or infringement of those natural rights. IOW, the default position needs to be the full protection of the right.

In case of the 2nd A, some believe it does not guarantee private gun ownership, but that it does mean private ownership was the understanding for 200+ years and the SC shot that theory down in Heller. Places like NYC, where they put the burden on the citizen to prove they need a gun, are acting unconstitutionally. It is NYC who needs to prove that a citizen doesn't need a gun. Their gun violence problem is not coming from those with carry permits.

If our society has gotten to the place where we feel we need to redefine and curb the 2nd A, there is the amendment process available. But I live in a place where there are probably a dozen firearms per household and almost zero gun violence. There are some major implications in that fact that are very problematic for those who think gun violence is primarily a gun problem.

But, if you do not believe in natural, negative rights and do not view the constitution as sacrosanct, you might be more comfortable over there with the "common sense" Left. But if you love freedom and the constitution, and want to pass the freedom you were born with to your grandchildren, I don't know about the GOP with all of its establishment RINOs, but conservatism is the home for those folks.
