Once again how are you going to stop a virus ? England, Spain, and Belgium all have higher per capita death rates than the USA despite strict mask mandates and shutdowns. By the time the drug companies roll out the vaccine, the virus like all viruses before will have ran its course. These so called experts know absolutely nothing, Fauci and the gang said even if a vaccine was developed it would only be 50 to 70 % effective, Pfizer says their vaccine is 90 % effective, these so called experts did not a lot of guessing with very little research to back it up.

People die from a number of viruses(among other things) . Guess we should lock ourselves in our homes forever to escape risk.

I don't like Trump, esp. his firing of so many cabinet members but the one guy he should have fired was Fauci. However from the beginning I have said once this virus got into the USA , I don't care who the President is, the virus is going to run its course just like it is in Europe.

We have done way worse than Europe or Canada or ....almost every country in the world.

Once you have allowed it to run rampant, mitigation is less effective. There was a window but that is long gone. Obviously, wearing masks remains important. Also, enabling employers and schools to test everybody weekly will identify infection much sooner, allow people to isolate sooner, enable earlier tracing, and limit further spread. This Is the only way to shutdown just the sick and not everybody else. Most of the testing today is still when people feel sick. The professional sports leagues have proven that preemptive testing and strict adherence to protocols can protect a population. It worked amazingly well. While the entire population cannot be as aggressively protected, there are certainly lessons. At the end of the day, the facts do not lie. The US is among the worst countries in it’s class in terms of infection, hospitalization, and deaths.

I work in a factory with 700 people, we have to wear a mask 12 hrs a day ( you mask wearing pushers try that everyday ) and we still have covid. Very few American corp. are going to pay for daily testing like NFL or NBA did or even weekly.

Johns Hopkins rated us as MOST PREPARED to handle a global pandemic. They didn't factor in the Trump effect obviously . They figured that the administration no matter who was in charge wouldn't have someone like Jared Kushner making key decisions and treating it more like a public relations issue of as long as we aren't to blame it's OK.{ He's on tape saying just this } Or Sexy Stevie Minushi cautioning that the stock market was more important than being truthful with the American people. That opinion probably assumed there wouldn't be a pathological lying malignant narcissist occupying the Oval office ? How does Hopkins get something so wrong? Most prepared and equipped they reasoned , and what happened when this actually happened ? Not only are we not the BEST or one of the world leaders in our effectively fighting this once in a century global pandemic. We are one of the worst by a lot of measures. Not amount of goal post moving can change that fact

And even with all the testing and restrictions players have gotten COVID...there is no stopping people from being infected by a virus. Rational people understand this...and then there is the left.

Yes...you can’t rely on companies and schools to do it themselves. The Federal government has to backstop it. God knows how much money has been spent on this virus. Directing that to preemptive testing and tracing sooner would have been much more effective. It still would be.

Sure they have. You can’t stop all of it but you can drastically reduce it. As I said, the testing and protocols in pro sports ate massively effective. Heck, look at college football. They don’t have the resources and bubble capability of pro sports and the vast majority of schools are successfully playing. They test the kids weekly and protocol compliance is extremely high. As you said, you can’t totally stop it but you can successfully operate without spreading It all over. The blue print is obvious.

Of course you can not use them at the same scale you fool. But you apply the same concepts at an individual school or office or plant. If you do that at enough places, you begin to get the benefit. Companies who are investing in their own preemptive testing are also doing this successfully. It would never be as significant because you could never achieve the same level of compliance but it would be much more effective than not doing any of it. It is a strategy to successfully stay open and continues to be proven out.

Where is this being done? Do you have examples where this is company wide and how effective this is at those places?

Stop lying Harry. Pfizer has publicly acknowledged that they were a part of Operation Warp Speed. Period, end of sentence.

Abbot. They test workers weekly on a preemptive basis. You might know somebody that works there. Ask them.

But also include the UK, Spain, and Belgium, all of which have strict mask guidlines. And over the last 7 days the top 10 is all European countries and US is 32nd.

All of the top countries are Islands and countries in Africa and SE Asia that either don't have the infrastructure to actually do testing or for whatever reason the virus has yet to hit those parts of the world significantly. China is the really only anomaly with low numbers and its almost universally acknowledged that China simply isn't reporting accurate numbers.

One can both recognize that the US hasn't done a great job from a public health/ relations standpoint and at the same time recognize there is little correlation to mask mandates and draconian lockdowns and mitigating the virus. There are simply to many factors, from culture to hospital system structures to treatment practices to geography, to simply say masks and soft quarantines would make a large difference.

They never took the Government money to develop anything . The Gov put in an order for doses . They didn’t take the Gov money . Period . They developed it on their own . The Government putting in an order isn’t the same thing as them using Gov money to produce anything . This isn’t Trumps development victory .

Do you work there? Have you actually seen this practice or know anyone who works there? Have you seen stats of how many Abbot workers have tested positive to show if this is working?
