WoodyHayes - Rest In Peace

RIP Woody! I must admit you pushed my buttons a few times but you also made me think a few times too which is the beauty of Yappi. I got a better feel for you as a person thru the PM's we exchanged from time to time and what a lot of people don't know about Woody is that he had a real soft spot in his heart for the common man. That was the button I could push with Woody..lol.

I would give a weeks paycheck to see the look on Woody's face when he gets to heaven...meets Jesus wearing a St.X Bomber Football T-shirt and after he hears well done my good and faithful servant...Jesus winks at him!

What a shock, as McGal said, I feel like I've lost a friend that I never had the chance to meet face to face. I'll miss his references to IT'S TIME. Rest in peace my friend.

So sorry for your loss. Had a few conversations with him here. Thoughts & prayers to you, his family & friends.

Some websites I've been on have the ability to 'retire' the name and put it in their tag line a special remembrance for them so that if someone were to pull up an old thread, they'd see that. It would be a touching act to do, for any of the posters here who pass on.

Good to see you guys all together as a group in support..We arent often on the same page on this website, but times like this puts things definitely into perspective..Strength be with his family...my condolences..

I was thinking this too Yappi. Maybe a Hall of Fame, retired screen names, or In Memoriam linked to the front page. Just an idea.

Just Wow!

I concur with two other posters in that I feel like I've been punched in the gut; however, I never met Woody. This is a good testimony to the connections that can be made even on a message board. I am not an avid poster, but I have read more than my share of posts and more times than not when I saw the name WoodyHayes coming up the scroll I knew I was going to be rewarded for opening the thread.

Egret,

Thank you for letting us know. Woody and your family remain in my prayers.

RIP Woody! I enjoyed his stuff mostly on the national forum, as he always had a great handle on Texas and Ohio football, which is as good as it gets. Boy, you could tell he sure loved high school football. Sad he left so soon. RIP.

You guys rock. I've sent this thread to Woody's Mom and wife. I'm sure they will appreciate the sentiments, as do I.

RIP WOODY! He was one of the posters that made yappi enjoyable! He will be missed by all (even St X posters) . Your family is in my families prayers.
