UC Bearcats

Same could be said for UCF and to a lesser degree Houston. All of them should feel very good about their current position.
Trading out ECU, Tulsa, Tulane, and Temple, etc....for Baylor, Tech, Zona, BYU, Okie St, K-State, TCU, etc....and going from $10 million in TV money to $31 million in TV money. I would say feeling good about our current position ain't nearly a strong enough expression. How about ecstatic about our current position.

UC and especially UCF are extremely fortunate to be in the Big 12. There's zero chance they would have received invites had the Big 12 known they'd be adding the Arizona schools, CU and Utah a year later. But as an alum I am elated

This will be the strongest basketball conference in history. UCF may not win a conference game this decade

True, but if Cuse and PITT hadn't cut the throat of the old Big East we never would have been relegated to the American. If Maryland doesn't jump to the BIG, UofL doesn't get an invite to the ACC. Cincinnati has spent a friggin' fortune on facilities and programs to be in position if and when their name was called. It took ten years, but it finally paid off......and the old Big East basketball was a top 20 match up every night, this conference will be like that on steroids.

I'm excited for the upcoming season despite the relatively low team expectations.

The offense will likely be a lot more dynamic and the defense has some big time playmakers upfront who can be game changers.

Feels great to not see Tulsa, ECU, Temple, and USF on the schedule anymore.

Will UC be favored against any of the Big12 opponents this season?
They will be my favorite in conference or out.......They've got Iowa State, KU, Baylor, and UCF at Nippert, and all the smart guys say WVU is way down this year......Truth is nobody knows. New Head Coach, and a boatload of transfers in on offense. Only thing we know for sure is that front seven on defense is legit.

Secured tickets for the game in Morgantown. Should be a great time, check another stadium off the list.

My biggest regret living in Arkansas was not taking advantage of Norman, Stillwater, Lawrence (KS) all being less than 4 hours away and Columbia (MO) and Manhattan (KS) being under 5 hours away. Should have while I had the chance. Imagine most will be a bit of a pain now from Cincinnati. Luckily Austin, Waco, College Station and TCU are all within 4 hours of my place in Texas. Although Texas will be gone next year so it won’t be a Bearcats game.

Kansas and UCF are possible wins. I can’t say I know much about some of the Big12 teams.

Well we've got EKU, Pittsburgh, and Miami to start the season. Oughta' be 3-0 when Oklahoma comes to Nippert for a BIG NOON game week four, which will be off the chain. Was hoping the Oklahoma game was gonna' be a Nip at Nite event, but a noon kickoff will have to do.

You think the Bearcats will beat Pitt?

I likes our chances.....Pittsburgh graduated everybody, and the next guy Pat Narduzzi out coaches will be the first guy Pat Narduzzi out coaches. I'd be a little more confident if they were playing at Nippert. We can revisit this topic after the EKU game one.

My sister is a UC Bearcat Season Ticket Holder. She cannot make it to the Oklahoma game so she has two tickets for sale that includes parking. She’s asking face value. Send me a private Yappi message if you are interested.

Jones looks pretty good against an outmanned EKU; we will see against Pitt next.
19/23 345yds 5 Td's plus 2 rushing in 3 qtrs. He only threw 1 bad ball.

Article from the Pittsburgh Trib on Saturdays Pitt-UC game:

Irwin, we made the roadie up to Pittsburgh in 2009 for the Pike to Binns game along with about 10K of my closest friends. Pittsburgh has a beautiful skyline, stadiums are nice, but there is no more difficult spot on the planet to get away from after a game than Pittsburgh. It takes an hour to get out of your parking lot, an hour to get across bridge number one, another hour to get across bridge number two and through the tunnel. Do the locals have any issues with where those stadiums are located.

I haven’t been to a Pitt game since they played at Pitt Stadium on campus. I have been to a few Steeler games and I guess it’s difficult to get out but never thought about it being any worse than any other NFL venue. Two years ago we parked at Station Square across the river and took the Ferry to the stadium and back we got out of town quickly by avoiding the bridges. Last year we walked from Station Square and back. It was a 45 minute walk with people slowing us down but once we got to the car there was not much traffic. If you are planning on going Saturday I suggest you do what we did two years ago. My two cents. Never done it but I can imagine parking in the stadium lots for a game that goes to the final second would be a difficult departure.

The Pitt QB had maybe the worst passing day I’ve ever seen in a D1 game. This guy was a 4 or 5 star recruit out of HS. Corleone was eating the Pitt center for breakfast which didn’t help.

A Good win
Jones didn't have a good game; made some nice throws, but questionable decisions on some plays.
Defensive backfield was not in sync; disturbing, the number of plays where they were not lining up correctly; thankfully pressure on the Pitt QB, who sucked, mitigated the damage. [ laughed at the moon shot he completed, I have seen punts with a lower trajectory]
What is up with the late offensive substitutions? With the rule letting defenders substitute if Offense does; by the time the slow Pitt defender hit the sideline, there were 4 or 5 secs left in the play clock.
A good game by the offensive line and generally good play by Kiner
Defensive line had a good game.

Big win for the program.

Nearly gave the game away in the 4th after Jones threw that pick, but the defense got a big stop, and the offense got the necessary first downs to close the game out.

Bearcats dominated most of the game today but made it way too interesting in the 4th qtr. Nice non-conference win though. Beat the Redhawks next week and maybe the Oklahoma match up is a ranked one?

Probably needed to win more decisively last night to garner enough votes to be on the fringe of top 25 but I guess we'll wait and see.

Yeah felt like every time time I looked the Pitt QB was trying to escape pressure

Jowon Briggs, Corleone, and Jack Dingle will all be playing on Sundays in the future. Jack Dingle will be a first day draft pick in a couple of years. That Bearcat front seven are monsters and deep. Kerry Coombs needs to go to work with that secondary. Got Oklahoma coming to Nippert in two weeks......

I didn’t watch this game, but it’s pretty rare to see a home team outgain an underdog mid-major by 180 yards and still lose the game despite not having a massive turnover differential (-1).

The good news for UC is that the Big 12 appears to have some potentially horrible bottom-feeders on UC’s schedule: Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Houston, potentially West Virginia.

The bad news for UC is that it looks like Pitt stinks, so that win means little. Oklahoma is looking a little closer to Oklahoma again. A Big Noon beatdown might well be forthcoming. At least most of the country’s focus will be on FSU at Clemson at noon, so if it gets ugly, it might not be focused on by most folks and would certainly be forgotten about after all the big games on next week’s slate.

UC can lose by 30 next week. The success of this season will be determined by their record in these particular games.

Jones looking worse each week at QB. There were too many dumb penalties as well. UC could be trending towards Tuberville like times. Ugh.

Red zone play calling left a lot to be desired. Miami played extremely well up front on the DL and their QB balled out.

Saw something on Twitter about how Kiner scored UCs first TD, and they then had 15 snaps inside the Miami 10 yard line without scoring a TD. Yikes.

UC should still get to 6 wins, which would be a successful season in their first year in the Big 12. Anything more than that will be gravy.

My sister has two tickets for the Oklahoma game. She is unable to attend . Send me a personal message with your best offer. It includes on campus parking.
