Impact to wrestling personnel from the state title football run is as follows:
-Eaton, returning SP, is the projected starter at 150
-Slaper, two-time returning SP, is the projected starter at 190
-Waugh was round of 12 in Fargo Cadets, and is the backup at 190
-Gregory, a Jr High State champ in 2021, is the backup to Delsanter at 215 but would start for most every other team in the state
-Kilbane and Regovich are the top two options at 285, Kilbane a returning SP and P5 football commit
For all that, they still have a capable wrestler at 150 in O'Brien, though it's a downgrade; but suffer significantly at 190 and 285 for purposes of Ironman (and Carnahan) due to those absences.
I am not an insider from a St. Edward perspective, but I would be shocked to see them back before Powerade, and it is certainly possible they are held out until after Powerade. Eagles start with a quad that includes a dual meet against Massillon Perry (nationally ranked team they should beat even short-handed), Ironman, and then the Carnahan Tournament at Crown Point that features multiple nationally ranked teams before Powerade.
