St.Edward 2004

Buckeye4life,

You want the truth on St.Edward football then you ask EagleSE or Eaglemercenary. Great news that Rose is staying. He will be a star in the Cleveland area in 2004.

I think Gardner is a better QB than Schozen...I also expect to see Nate Oliver running the ball for the varsity Eagles early in the year.

Ted Ginn Jr. and the TombRaider just anoounced that Ginn Jr. is going to be a Ohio State Buckeye. Just before the announcement Ginn Jr. ran the kickoff back 98 yards for a TD. Looks like Ginn Jr. is a favorite for MVP of the U.S. Army All-American game.

Ray Williams of Benedictine caught a short pass and just turned it into an electrifying TD run for 31 yards. Ginn Jr and Ray Williams are making Cleveland proud.

Ted Ginn Jr. is the MVP of the Army All-American game. The Tombraider, Cleveland and the Ohio State Buckeyes should be very proud.

edgeoo,

Good to see your still around. Keep the clones in line and watch out for the Elder's. They like to drink the suds too.

We don't drink here, we just brew!

I don't drink period, but if I throw a celebration late in 2004, I will give you a ring to see what's on tap with a discount for Edge relatives.

I agree that Gardner is better then Skozen, I'd like to see Paxton Rose in the back field, he ran the fewest times this season but had the most yards, hmmm

Skoczen needs to go to a QB camp and work on his mechanics. The kid has physical gifts, but it's painful watching him try and throw. I hope things work out for him because from everything I have heard, he is a great kid and a team player. If not he could be a force at receiver and free safety next season.

Rose needs to become more focused on the mental aspects of the game. He has god given ability to run the ball with speed and power. He was an absolute beast on special teams and I could also see him making an impact on defense if given the opportunity.

Nate Oliver has the tools and with a solid 8 months of weight training could help the Eagles out a great deal next season. From what I hear he has grown a few inches since the school year started.

Gardner did a very good job and is shifty running the ball. I just don't think St.Ed's wants to rely every year on a QB who is under 6 foot and his best attribute happens to be his feet. Gardner did have a good year at DB. Gardner throws a better ball then Skoczen, but that could change if Skoczen gets some real help with his mechanics.

QB is definetly a position of concern. We seem to have kids ready to step in at other positions, but the QB position is important, especially in Region 1, most years.

Mr. Benedictine,

You can keep on laughing since you figured it out. The tombraider is always lurking, trying to confiscate talented high school players already at other high schools. Just last year he seized Ray Small from St.Edward and O'Neal from Mansfield. Both will be star players in the Greater Cleveland Area in 2004 and O'Neal is already committed to Ohio State.

Still :laugh::laugh:

I know all about the tombraiding. He worked on Raymond Williams all offseason last year....he may have done it if Angelina Jolie was asking...

If Angelina Jolie asked me to do something for her I would in a heart beat. From what I hear...the tombraider was instrumental in getting Ray Williams on the Army All-American team? The only player the tombraider would really want from Ed's would be the freshman tailback, but I think he and his family are too smart to buy into his used car salesman pitch for Glenville.

No doubt about that one Edge86, he's here to stay...Catholic grade school and Catholic high school.

EagleSE, EAGLEMERCENARY

Anything new on the recruiting of the senior football players and where they might be heading?

MR. BENEDICTINE

Anything new on Ray Williams and a possible Buckeye connection after the Army All-American game?

He's a westsider - St. Thomas Moore and Old Brooklyn...I don't think he'd give tombraider the time of day! Besides, we "Old-Brooklyners" don't forget our roots!:D

Drew Carey didn't.

Eaglemercenary,

Looks like our boy CatFan is stirring the drink with the Elders. They are doubting the 10 year contract proposal by Coach Gibbons to Elder. Better set the record straight before CatFan starts another thread calling us St.Edwards High some more, instead of St.Edward.

Edge:

My attention has been directed at the "recruiting" of the freshman class.

Send me an e-mail with your darn phone number again, please. I forgot it again; creeping senility I believe.

And to think I used to have a pornographic memory.

Angel on EagleMerc's shoulder responding to all the posters in that other thread.

10 year contract was offered to Cincinnati Elder to play St.Edward.
Cincinnati Elder has not replied in any way.
Eaglemerc is not the AD and knows everything that is going on at St.Edward and in Euclid with the famous hot dogs and steak sandwiches. He might answer questions better if he was sent a case of Cincinnati's famous river water (Huddy) beverage to suck down with all that scrumptious Euclid food. ;) :D

Most intimidating team in Ohio starting in 2004 goes to the St.Edward Eagles.
Since the Elder head coach made fun of the Eagle head coach's running abilities at the last Elder Dad's Club...the Eagles sent a 10 year contract for the two teams to play and not a peep has been heard from the Cincinnati Elder Football Program.

Eaglemerc is on a roll...need to talk to you on what kind of transportation we are going to offer the incoming freshman football players, since we aren't traveling far this season. We can upgrade the new vehicles with extra goodies with the money that isn't needed for travel in 2004.

Haven't heard. Seems to be a well-kept secret. In fact, I think very few down at Bene even knows. The only thing I did hear is that he waited until the football season was over to take the ACT. Not sure if results are back.

Eagle fans might want to pick up a Sun Newspaper today. It's chock full of St. Edward news, good and bad.

The Bad. Former principal Brother Robert passed away at the Dujuarie House in South Bend. He had been living there since a stroke in 1993. There is a rather large obituary that talks about his many accomplishments while at St. Edward... and many young Eagles won't believe this... but it talks about when the St. Edward band ("The Band of Presidents") was one of the best around.

The Good: A large feature article on '94 graduate Mark Dietrick who is in the Marine core and won a Purple Heart in Iraq. Anyone who knows Mark is not suprised at all. He was born to be a Marine.

Large article on the Hockey team's win over St. Ignatius at the Gund last week.

Also short articles on the Lakewood/ St. Edward basketball blackout and halftime festivities at the Gund last week.

sehs95 -

You're absolutely correct about Mark - as Coach Urbas used to say he's "gung ho through and through"! He's also one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet!
