PAC 2023

Red rider friends, im heading to Orrville tomorrow for my sons district meet. Whats a good food spot to take the Mrs. to? I appologize in earnest as I know months ago food stops were a great discussion on here, but Im not savvy enough to go find it.
Jerry's is my favorite over there, always a good time. Dravenstott's is also pretty good and has some stuff on the menu you don't get many other places

Coach Knight questions your tuffness. If you don't roll into Orrville with a copy of the Orr Views in your hand and some Mo Tipton tuffness behind you, just leave the GD PAC.*

I am not sure about the athletic abilities of this storied group....but here is a review of the golf courses played in the area so far this spring....

Zoar is in great shape...greens are smooth a little slow
Pleasant View...good shape, did have a lot of trees knocked down with the wind storms, still the best hot dogs and coneys!
Turkeyfoot..as always excellent, greens are fast and without the moisture from winter hard and a little bouncy
Wilkshire..best shape I have seen in awhile..greens comparable to Turkeyfoot
Legends...hard and dry fairways..great roll...rough is thick..you will have to look for your ball, it is that thick, greens are in great shape

Coming up will be Chenowith and the course that was the best shape to play all last year Chippewa, Elms will end the month of May
Get out to Riceland and the College of Wooster (COW) courses.

We also need Red Ash tuffness around here and the greatness of Spring Valley golf down on Brinker. Golf with some old coal mine run off orange sludge water on the side of a hill and Red Ash is the spirit of Canton South.

Que Pasa has really good Mexican. I ate there today, actually. Jerry's is good but takes forever.

Had Dravenstott’s once. Tasted like a bunch of frozen food that just came out of the microwave. On an unrelated note, Hartville Kitchen’s food has a similar taste.

The only Mo Tipton I know wadls the coventry one. Had a film to study of the game between Coventry and Fairless in prep for coventry the next week. On that film, a Coventry fan had somehow gotten control of the mic and announced tp the entire stadium that old Mo (driving around in his golf cart at this time) was giving certain 'favors' under the stands at half time of the game. Wish I woulda kept that old tape. We played it over and over again in films!

LMAO.

PACtion has it all.

Forgot all about that, I played in that game. Memories.

OH MY.

BSO will read that comment and unleash the Route 619 Mafia upon you.
No I will not....Mr. Slippery is very correct. The Kitchen is over priced and not even close to how good the food used to be when Howard Miller Sr. was running the place. The only suggestion that I can make is they cook turkey on Friday's that is pretty good...the noodles are the only thing that made it from last century...even their pies have went downhill and are over priced. The only mafia I associate myself with is Palombo's....their food is great...blue hair group is out by 7.

Some takeaways:
  • Canton South finishes with 4 of 5 on the road
  • Manchester hosts CVCA in the annual Week 10 game to close out James R. France Stadium
  • Fairless with an early season 3-game road trip
  • Northwest plays weeks 2 through 5 away from home. A four-game stretch.
  • Orrville also will have to fuel up the buses early with three straight away.
  • And Triway with only four home games.

Chippewa is always nice...but I guess being in as good of shape as it is, allows for a premium price. There are just so many places I'd rather play, that are still really nice, and don't charge me $63 for 18 on the weekend. If I'm paying $60+ it's going to be at The Quarry in Canton.

I agree on the $63 charge...but we keep losing courses. I am retired so I get to play during the week...do not have to play weekends. I prefer Chippewa over Quarry...Quarry is a hard course...if they would have made the greens friendlier I might like it.....it is not easy to get to the green..lol. Played Chenoweth today...nice greens, still tight course.

Rawiga tomorrow. Never been. The only people with anything to say about it are 70+ years of service to humanity…but at 28 bones and a bar that looks like my grandparents basement, how could I not!?

I always remembered Chippewa being on the expensive side.

Would like a round on the scooters though…
The Scooters look fun, but even their carts are awesome! I have never played Rawiga...going to have to pretty soon...the cemetery bought the course. Another course that will be gone.

The group of us that play all over bought the tee time book...that helps on the expense at places like Chippewa...I do like their greens and how different the course is between the front 9 to the back 9

Yes.
Glad I FINALLY got to Hawks Nest last year…Never made it to Tam O’Shanter. The expense of course mgmt will continue to have the old courses closing. We’ll all be CC’ers before I retire.

Lyons Den is that way. When I finally played the back 9, I couldn't believe it was the same course.
