The foul was right before the clip. This shows the tail end of it. Stritch definitely benefited from more photos calls. Including 2 flops
Not sure why BCSN didn't add the Swanton block off the backboard that damn near landed at half court....Stritch is maybe a year away - just 1 senior. Looked like Swanton benefitted from a phantom foul call with the game tied and :03 to go. I'm sure there were calls that went the other way throughout the game - but to make that call at that point was pretty bad, refs usually swallow their whistle at that point.

You most likely won't see that call come tournament time. The deeper into tournament you get, the fewer fouls you see called. It was questionable but I wouldn't want to be in that position so thank you to that individual for taking the time to officiate. The whole play is in the clip and I acknowledged that I am sure there were calls that went the other way. The foul call was made on the drive at the foul line right?
The refs angle is much better than mine and he is a far better ref. than I could ever be without the benefit of replay.
It is hard for me to see a foul no matter how many times I play it and the ref appears to hesitate on the call (starts to raise his hand, stops and then raises it again). My point was that you just don't see that call in that situation - not shooting, defense is moving his feet, is in a good guarding position etc. Maybe he got him on the reach, but if the game was called that tight the whole game they must have finished JV Players v JV Players.
I think Swanton wins in the rematch though. Stritch is too up and down with their play. That should level out some next season with another year of maturity.
Actually closer to the foul line but was pretty impressive lolNot sure why BCSN didn't add the Swanton block off the backboard that damn near landed at half court....
TN37...I am assuming you are a Swanton fan...just curious, how did Swanton lose to Stryker?Actually closer to the foul line but was pretty impressive lol
Shot probably 20% older brother was out. Same was they lost to ClayTN37...I am assuming you are a Swanton fan...just curious, how did Swanton lose to Stryker?
That will do it. Thanks for the update. Hopefully Coach Smith and the Bulldogs can make a run in the tournament. Wauseon fan here but like to see the other schools in the county do well...except Archbold(have to include that or I will get kicked out of Wauseon)lol. I don't have anything against Archbold but I found out very quickly when I moved to Wauseon you are not allowed to like them...hahahaShot probably 20% older brother was out. Just think if Hightower and Revels wouldn't have transferred out.Stritch is maybe a year away - just 1 senior. As down as the league was this year I could easily see one team moving on to the District...obviously the winner of LC/Evergreen.
I watched a lot of bad basketball this year in the NWOAL. I don't miss to many games in the NWOAL, been following for 25 years now...this is by far the worst I can remember the league being. Swanton needed an All-Star team to win the league this year and then fell flat in the tourney. I was pleasantly surprised with Wauseon's win...unfortunately not surprised by everyone else losing...these are the worst Archbold and Wauseon teams I have seen in a long time. How does Bryan go 1-22??? Just a down year and could be even worse next year. You were fore shadowing a couple results that I would not have picked.

Captain Kangaroo? Does he by chance officiate a lot of regular season games with his son?I get that - but Genoa was 9-13 heading into the tournament.
Not a surprise Stritch beat Swanton (but I thought Swanton would pull it out), great win considering Swanton was 20-2. Stritch has a new coaching staff, 2 best returning players transferred (Hightower 18 ppg/13 RPG, Revels 13 PPG) and only one kid had much varsity time coming into the season. Stritch plays hard and has solid talent, but have stretches in games where a coach could pull his hair out. But beyond the Willard and Ottawa Hills games they show up and compete.
I suppose it all goes in cycles - I see all league guys who would have been juniors playing on JV a couple years ago.
Several area teams in multiple divisions went from terrible/ok to the cream of the crop in one year. Normally there are steps of improvements as a class develops - ok one year, good the next and then "great". Teams are going from "ok" to "great" and it seems to be because the current senior class - at least in the Toledo Area, doesn't have much depth. NLL being the exception they are pretty senior heavy.
Separate from this conversation - Captain Kangaroo (if you know, you know) was on a power trip last night - he let Smith berate him and throw tantrums all night and but would grab his whistle as if to be about to "T" Coach Harris up for far less. The inconsistency was a bad look for him.
When the big guy committed to Ohio State I jumped on NFHS to see if their was some footage of him. I found the St Mary's-Lima Bath game and was expecting him to stick out like a sore thumb but it took me a few scans of the whole court to find him. St Mary's has a couple other big guys like you mentioned and then Bath has three guys listed at 6'5" so it wasn't as easy to spot him as I would have thought. On a side note, I wonder where St. Mary's ranks in terms of tallest starting lineups in the state. Did I hear 6'10", 6'7", 6'7"?
(I'm not sure on the other 2)
Refs at the Evg-LC game gave Keifer every opportunity in the world and he still blew it for his team. LC was up by 1 with 5 seconds to go, LC was shooting a 1n1 with a below average free throw shooter. Keifer argued for too long and two refs escorted him back to the bench then he tossed a clipboard(word I got was he was trying to throw it on to a towel or something soft and missed so it dropped loud on the ground) received the T, went on the court after the other ref to argue and got tossed. LC went 1/5 on the ensuing free throws but got the ball and was able to inbound it and get fouled(only made 1/2) so after all that Evg still had a chance to tie it at the buzzer and got off a decent shot that was just a little too strong off the backboard.Separate from this conversation - Captain Kangaroo (if you know, you know) was on a power trip last night - he let Smith berate him and throw tantrums all night and but would grab his whistle as if to be about to "T" Coach Harris up for far less. Good for Coach Badenhop. Seems like a class guy over there at LC.Refs at the Evg-LC game gave Keifer every opportunity in the world and he still blew it for his team.
