Well since I know about Jamir’s situation, and no I’m not giving certain details and could say a whole lot more about the situation, but I’ll just say he’s doing great and enrolled in JUCO as of Tuesday. He also graduated
That's a shame. It really is. I know the'Loons want to pretend its no big deal or it couldnt have been avoided but they're wrong on both counts. This kid didn't dream of being a juco transfer. And then there are the very questionable issues about he was eligible in the fall, then received a diploma, but could not get into college? How does that work? One 'Loon said he had one class to pass for graduation and he was working on it. Now this one says he graduated. Better get to a BC meeting and get your stories straight.

Thoughts about the upcoming season...
1. Massillon will again beat anyone from the Federal League that they get the opportunity to play.
2. The offense will be very good like people are expecting (very hyped up, for good reason) but the defense will prove to be as good or better than last years defense.

They will lose to McKinley and go 9-1

Typical troll response. The only thing you have correct is you don’t know how it works.

Of course. It has happened at Mckinley any number of times and other schools across the state including elite private schools. And literally thousands of non-athlete graduates. But the 'Loons' will pretend they never heard of such of thing so they can get their digs in.

I just hope he follows in the footsteps of those who go on to earn a degree whether they star again or not.

No TP. This is the first time anything like this has ever happened. 100

I'd suggest you call the OHSAA and demand a full and complete investigation into his eligibility, I'm sure Macinbiner hasn't called to report anything on Massillon since yesterday.

Are you sure JLP? I seem to recall something similar with their #1 all-time leading rusher. And #2 all-time leading rusher. And #3 all-time leading rusher... Not to mention the great Federal League's all-time leading rusher (and current prison inmate)... But I digress. Glass houses I guess.

I haven't seen one post on here that implies that this is not a shame. I also haven't seen any evidence that this young man did not receive opportunities for tutoring or other help. I have two children in the School system and they are both honor students so I know that the opportunity for a quality education is available for those who want it. I also know that not all these children have the same support system available at home. This may come as a surprise to you but sometimes no matter how hard you try if you only have limited access to the child there's only so much you can do.

I don't know all the details of this young man's story but for you to presume that the blame falls solely on the Coaches and or the School system is absurd. I know that our Coach has mandatory study tables for the entire football team regardless of whether or not they have good grades.

I understand that you want to paint an unpleasant picture of our program but this is a pretty underhanded attempt even for the likes of you. It also tells me that while you may think you're well educated, you certainly have little to no class. I don't care that you hate everything Massillon, This just makes you look like an .

Did he graduate? If yes, how did he not get into WSU? If he didn't, why didn't he. How was he eligible to graduate but not eligible to enter college? Since you "know" - what support system did he have at home? Where do you place the blame - on the "child" or the adults charged to oversee him?

If your concern was genuine it would be nice.

Did you have some trouble reading my post? I think most people would be able to understand it. For someone that proclaims to be all knowing your reading and comprehension skills seem to be lacking.

First " what support system did he have at home? " I ask you first.
2nd " since you know " I clearly stated that I did not know all the details of his story.
3rd - " Did he graduate? " Well if he's enrolled at a JUCO he obviously graduated.
4th-It's quite clear that your only agenda here is to try and take shots at Massillon by any means necessary.
Last but clearly not least, You should seek professional help!
Now you run a long Sonny & remember that Jesus loves you.

What would be nice is one Massillon fan caring enough to honestly inquire how this happened. Does your responsibility to the kids end once you cheer them on a Friday night? #blamethekid
How do you know that no one has " inquired " how this happened? If someone has, do you think they would share any details with you or on a public forum? Why would they tell you at all? Haters gotta hate!

Once again Jamir graduated from Massillon Washington. He didn’t get into Washington State and I’m not going into it. He’s enrolled in JUCO and will be just fine. Practice started and classes start in a few weeks. Cheer the young man on and quit worrying about all this other nonsense some of you spew, Christ!
Which college is he in?

Yes, we know about the state report cards. We can argue the legitimacy of these tests and grading system. This type of testing has been changed many times. All districts in Ohio aren’t the same. These tests “treat” the school districts the same. Unfair to more diverse districts.
So Maxie is a far lefty. Which socialist are you voting for?

I would offer up looking at the entire GPA of the football team that I know they publish. I would bet Jamir is probably more the exception than the rule. Not that I am minimizing the poor kid. Not at all. I'm just trying to keep you guys from generalizing, and also trying to bring the moron from the basement of some Jackson apartment complex back to some semblance of reality.
You know the school sets the grading scale right? A 4.0 here isnt the same as a 4.0 there.

It's intriguing that you bring Erick Howard into THIS conversation. I would have thought he would have been the LAST player to be brought up here by a Massillon fan, but you obviously see similarity in their stories.
So are you saying Massillon fans are expecting Jamir to Rob a drug dealer at gun point, sexually assault a female during the robbery and spend the next 40 years in prison?

The NCAA doesn't care what the GPA on your transcripts says, they only care what your calculated GPA is in the requisite NCAA approved core classes. If you didn't take the right classes in high school, you aren't eligible, no matter what your high school GPA is. I imagine some kids end up taking certain classes that make it possible for them to stay eligible and graduate, but they end up in JUCO because of it.

Interesting. So adult "educators" can steer a young person into classes that keep their GPA up for a time but may not meet minimum requirements for college entrance? This gets worse as it goes. And TP says this happens "literally thousands" of times?

Are you in QAnon? No, adult educators and coaches do not steer kids away from meeting NCAA requirements you dope, lol. The opposite is true. They put a ton of effort into communicating them and providing resources to help. Unfortunately it still happens, but the rarer the better. That's the goal.

So weak lol

It is weak. The hypocrisy is the point. If you blame Moore and Massillon then you must blame Hertler and Hoover for Howard. Here was a student athlete, at Hoover no less, and living with the HC to boot, failing to achieve a min. eligibility for a BCS scholariship. That is to say nothing about his choices after hs.

So unless you fault every coach and school (or none) for every player for any reason then you are a hypocrite like he is. Make sense? I've already pointed out several instances and know of many more at the school our chief troll supports so that is well established, how about you?

Btw one them Morgan Williams went on to have a decent career at Toledo, credit to him. Not a "failure" or "tragedy" or "crying shame". So hold off on the obituary not every kid, family, circumstances, or paths are the same.

I would imagine these kids are counseled and made well aware of the classes they need to take and perform in to be eligible by NCAA standards. I'm just saying the other supplemental classes they take in high school can help keep their GPA in an eligible condition to play and graduate.
