GCL Coed 2024

My guess is they'll try something around all boys vs. co-ed to get them eligible. Not sure if any of that every works, but I'm sure they'll try whatever they can.
Yep, saw a comment on Yappi somewhere that if your AD can’t get your guys eligible they should be fired, says schools push all kinds of buttons to get it done. Thing is I think they were at X in the Fall and Purcell Spring semester and they left when the PM school moved to another job. So who knows. 5 games means they aren’t eligible for any Coed games or the playoffs.

Yes the Harvey’s (twins) are working out according to what I see on the McNick football X account. According to the Yappi St X forum one or both were expected to be possible starters in the Fall at X so should be good additions.

Think this will be a good year for McNick. I smell regional winner state trip.
I can see 7-3 maybe 8-2 as likely and a possible deep run in the playoffs. If some of the talented Sophomore class step up that will be even better.

Seasons a month and change away. I know 7v7s have been going on thus far. Anyone got the scoop on how teams are looking this year?

My pre season predictions

1. Badin - As an Alter guy this kills me, but I believe you are on top until someone knocks you off. Alter ran this conference for years. And the last few it's been Badin. I've heard they lost a lot, but Yordy is a great coach and proven success is a great motivator. Plus they I know they have a very nice regular season winning streak.
2. Alter - People say this every year, but if there was a year for Domsitz last dance it would be this group. Coming off of a state title appearance, and returning a core group of last years team. This could be a great year for the Knights but they have underachieved before with great rosters coming off of state title appearances.
3. McNick - With the young team they had last year, plus the transfers that they have brought in they should be prone for a big year. Would not shock me if they end up higher on this last at the end of the year.
4. CJ - Truly do not know a lot about the eagles. Year 3 of the Earl White offense.

After this the last 2 are interchangeable. Fenwick loses their studs to Middletown and brings in a new coach. Carroll is Carroll do not see them getting better unless something drastic happened over there in East Dayton.

Based on what I’ve seen of Badins Freshmen teams the last 3 years and their loss of a lot of talented Seniors I’ll predict they fall to number 3. Alter/ McNick/Badin, then CJ, Carroll, Fenwick.

Freshman teams don't mean squat... you know that.

Sometimes they do. Only an observation of the talent level I’ve witnessed in the last 3 years. We are all just speculating right? I admit I could be mistaken.

I could see Badin finishing anywhere from first to fourth in the league. They lose a huge senior class that went undefeated during the regular season through their varsity career. I know they have some good players coming up and the Grayson kid (RB) has a couple of DI offers. They will be well coached but so will everyone else at the top of the GCL Coed. I think they will benefit from the league play not starting until the second half of the season which will give those inexperienced players some time to gain experience. In fairness, I thought they would take a step back after the making it to state in 2021 and I was wrong. The biggest obstacle I think they face overall is the bump up to DII because of their CB numbers.

McNick competed against LaSalle and Lakota West in a 7v7 this evening. Word is they looked pretty good.
…for what it’s worth.

"Lighten up Francis."

Better stated....

stripes lighten GIF

What’s the word out of Cranford’s camp? Any players standing out? Predictions from scrimmages and the season? Who’s the QB?

GCL Coed site is now posting rosters for most teams. It appears every team except McNick also lists Freshmen on the roster. I counted 70 players for McNick. If they add Freshmen the total would be 101 players.

* edit: Badin not listing Freshmen. Are McNick and Badin the only schools remaining with Freshmen teams?

I believe McNick is somewhere between 25-30 kids. Down a few with inuries too.

No. About 30 players total
You’re quite a bit short but tbh I expected that. Nobody expects to win anything big in year one of the rebuild, the rosters are public and they have 45 listed. Some talented freshman but not sure if they want to throw them in the fire during a year where McNick, Alter, and Badin are all set up well. They’ll play tough, take a few hits, and continue to get better. Just like Cranford’s last tenure year one probably won’t be great. He’ll also probably end up with a team that wins on a yearly basis.

After a peep at the roster it seems your self sabotaging knows no bounds.

18 freshmen. So if 3 see the field during a varsity game, that would make 30. Just remember Freddy is 2-18 in last 20 games, and following his departure 0-10. So yeah I’ll buy wins on a yearly basis as win every year or so

1. You're talking about a guy you've never met while I played for him. I'll trust him.

2. "30 total" includes freshman. It's more like (exactly like) "45 total" which nobody is bragging about. You just continue to lie for no reason, we're in a rebuild, we have the right pieces in place, and a few years from now the program will be where we need it to be. I really hope folks like you don't get in the ear of the younger kids because that could ruin their HSFB experience which would be a real shame.

3. Good luck rooting against Fenwick and not for a specific team?
