Neither. They were acknowledging the brave leadership I displayed in the face of tyrants. They let me know when the shooting starts they had my back. For various reasons they weren't able to display their disobedience but viewed me as a ray of hope in a world gone mad. I felt very much like Caesar in Planet of the Apes. I seemed like a god to them.
