Cleveland Indians 2016

Winning division will be nice, winning in playoffs are over.Salazar out 4 weeks, maybe more, no pitching depth.

^^
Do you watch playoff baseball? Lots of days off. Playoffs boil down to top 3 starters and bullpen. Kluber, Carrasco, and pick one (Bauer/Tomlin?). Tribe will be as good as anyone in the AL with top 3 starters.

I agree with brian. The Indians could not afford to lose any of the big three in starting staff, and now with Carrasco pitching like garbage, their chances look pretty slim in the playoffs against big hitting lineups like Toronto, Boston, Texas.

I understand that past mismanagement has cost them some loyal fans. But real fans want to see a winner, and will do so. Last time I checked, every city has 2 weekend days and 5 weekdays. 28th best is not a 'great job'.

Yep pretty pathetic that they average around 10k on weekday games, even having been in first place almost all season

They could, but Detroit isn't playing particularly well right now. The Tribe's pitching outside of Kluber has fallen off a cliff.

Scary. So with 18 games remaining, and a six game lead, Detroit would need to go 13-5 and Cleveland 5-13. But that doesn't count the remaining games between the 2 teams. Detroit would need to basically win 13 games and sweep the CLE games. Highly unlikely

CLE: 83-61
DET: 77-67
Math can be your friend guys. The 13-5, 5-13 scenario is highly unlikely and also wrong. 13-5, 6-12 still makes the DET the champ. But it is not going to happen.

For all the moaning and crying here, Tribe is 5-5 the last 10 games, and DET is 6-4. It would be an historic collapse for the Tribe to not win the division, like 1969 Mets historic.

^^ One post ago Tomlin was a "bum", according to you. Too many hits in the head without that helmet?

Has been a nice run this summer but I'm afraid of not making the Fall Classic...BAM!

This was a silly post yesterday, but with Carrasco now lost for the season after suffering a broken right hand from a line drive on the second pitch of the game, it does not look good today. The WS odds for the Tribe in Vegas just changed for the worse.

The Indians bullpen shuts out Detroit as Andrew Miller gets the win on a walk-off single in the 10th. Detroit walks Napoli to load the bases and get to Jose Ramirez.

Pretty depressing way to essentially wrap up the division with a win today, but lose any shot at making noise in the playoffs with Carrasco gone on top of Salazar

If not for the Cavs winning, I think these injuries all year (Brantley, Gomes, Salazar, Carrasco) would be chalked up to the "Cleveland Curse." Maybe some people are. It is too bad the Indians don't get to showcase their team at close to full strength. Injuries happen...but this is a bit ridiculous.

To be honest, the Indians fans (myself included) probably don't deserve to watch a World Series championship after a lack of support in the ballpark all season. There are dozens of cities in the country right now that would have had higher attendance all season if you had a first place baseball team. I've only gone to a couple games myself, although I do watch a lot at home.

*The Twins...colder weather, MUCH worse baseball team...have higher attendance
*Milwaukee...similar climate, out of the division race in May/June...and they average 7,000 more fans per game all season
*Detroit...similar climate/economy, 2nd place for most of the season...and they average 12,000 more fans
