Cleveland Indians 2016

In their last 32 games, the Indians have scored 1 run or less in 13 of them...that is a shade over 40%. And this isn't usually against playoff pitching. If there is about a 50/50 shot the Tribe scores one run or less in each playoff game, this playoff run will be over before we know it. The feast/famine mentality of the hitters has me as worried as the starting pitching.

Considering the injuries, it is amazing this team will have 93-95 wins and a Central Division title. If healthy, you have to believe this team would have as good of a shot as any. But this is a team that relies on starting pitching and half of your playoff rotation is gone. This is like the Cavs having lost Kyrie and Love...but the Indians don't have a LeBron to drag them to the World Series.

After Kluber injury...

Considering the expectations before the season, we should be happy we have October baseball at all. I think people keep forgetting that.

Time for Francona to live up to his genius reputation. He has to set up a pitching rotation for the playoffs using a pitching staff that has been recently been racked with injuries. Does he have two reliable pitchers left?

If you had the chance to watch it, the locker room celebration was hilarious. The out of control drunk fest of a team that doesn't win very often and a bunch of players who clearly like one another.

A beautiful sight.

Favorite comment...while Francona is being interviewed, his players keep pouring beer and champagne on him. Tito: "The next guy who pour beer on me has to play tomorrow!"

Not two pitcher that have been reliable for the whole season.

Heard Francona say they are going to shut Kluber down for the rest of the season and hope he is ok come playoff time.

Bauer and Tomlin have been good in stretches, but not consistent enough.

It's gonna be tough for this team to win a series, but stranger things have happened. If the bats get hot it could definitely happen.

Bauer's last five starts: 7.44 ERA
Tomlin's last four starts (since his hiatus): 1.75 ERA

Why is Bauer getting two starts (and the pivotal Game 1) over Tomlin? Don't get me wrong, Tomlin could get blown up by the Red Sox. But at least he has finished the year strong while Bauer has been getting drilled. I think it makes sense to let Kluber get Games 2 and 5...since that is an extra day rest compared to pitching Games 1 and 4.

Tribe clinches home field advantage over Boston.

Also eliminates the need for that male-up game in Detroit tomorrow as both the Sox and Tigers choke out the season.

Not sure it will matter between those two. Boston destroys mediocre pitching. Francona knows Bauer is better at his best so he's rolling the dice. Tomlin will be lit up by the Red Sox even with his best stuff

No matter what happens it was a great run and a very impressive year for the Indians. To win the division AND get home field advantage in round one even after all these injuries is a great accomplishment

Kluber has to win both (if he gets both) of his starts. And then you have to hope the Indians offense explodes for at least 6-7 in one of the Tomlin/Bauer starts. It is asking for a lot, but having homefield helps.

If the Tribe can push it to Game 5 at home with Kluber on the mound, I will be very happy.

Great job by Tito last night. We need Kluber to be healthy and dominant like he can be. We need 7 or 8 strong to rest the bullpen for the trip to Boston.

Francona certainly went "all in" in the 4th inning last night, pulling his starter and going with Miller for so long. That only works if Kluber goes 7 or 8 innings tonight. I'd certainly think Miller and Allen are either not available today, or for one batter only.
