2024 Massillon Tigers

Neither is anyone else. Which is why these "marquee" OOS games may appeal to a small number of hardcores, but are generally "Who?" to most folks. With full acknowledgement of the increasing difficulty of filling a schedule, Moeller, X, Elder, Ignatius, etc., etc., will all generate far more interest than whomever from wherever. Then pour salt in the wound if the Tigers get snot-bubbled by Mater Dei (or whomever the chest-thumpers are pimping this week), and the only question would be "Why?".
There isn’t a choice that’s why,,,, common sense.

We’re in the middle of January and Massillon are still on the mind of some Lake parents 😂😂 Don’t they realize they had a Massillon kid on their team?
Not to mention kids from Mogadore and North Canton. It’s actually funny anymore when people say things like that, then go watch their team on Friday night and truly think those kids all went to school together since 1st grade. 😂😂

There are a lot of choices between Mater Dei and Kenmore. Neither of those two makes sense, but there are plenty in between that do. Find them, then see what it takes to line them up. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't -- but any assertion that we have to plug the holes (and can compete) with Bishop Gorman, Duncanville, and IMG because we're in preemptive surrender mode is idiotic.

Yeah you're probably right I guess it doesn't matter if it's western Pa if know one knows who they are. I know Erie Cathederal Prep is always good but other than that I don't know the schools... Do any of you think another Fed team would play us in week 3 or even week 1 and if so which one? I doubt that would ever happen of course but it's January not much going on.... Jackson, Perry? Hopefully there will be better options but at least there would be fans showing up..
I think the schools in and around the Pittsburgh area and they all play in a league not sure the name of the league but they have some strong teams Pittsburgh Central Catholic is one of them. They are usually really good. Last year they played St. Ignatius and beat them 47 to 10. I think they have played Eds before also.

So coach Moore is an sweetie?

I instantly thought the same thing. Bet this Matson goof cheered like crazy for the FEDERAL LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE YEAR from Mogadore last year.

Thanks TomBoiii, we were discussing hypocrites and you delivered....right on cue.

If there were alot of choices we wouldn’t be having this discussion in the first place.

Interesting match up would Texas 5A Division 2 Port Neches Grove Indians. They have are great following and would bring bus loads to Massillon. They were 2022 runner up and 2023 state Champs in a rematch. Great game.

It's actually MORE funny that the opponent there is Hoban of all people. Hoban. Lol.

Massillon & Hoban coaches are going at it on Twitter today!

The Hoban strength coach is a tool.
I don't know what the story is with him. It seems a few years ago he had a couple of incidents pregame with a couple of teams one of which was St V and apparently people have said that is the reason St V doesn't play Hoban anymore. I am a Hoban grad and have understandably only heard good things about him from the Hoban administration. I don't know the man at all. I would say though usually where there is smoke there is fire.

I know that Avon hates him for what he’s done in pregame during their games

I'm predicting an out of state team..... maybe from Pennsylvania
I was thinking about different programs playing and I believe these teams have played before. That is Massillon vs Walsh Jesuit. Walsh over the last 5 years has turned its program around. They are not at the level they were in the past and not on Massillon's or Hoban's level but I believe they would give Massillon a good game because excluding this year they have played Hoban tough. Also,Walsh would not object to going to Massillon. I don't believe they would demand a home and home deal

FYI. The schools haven’t played since 1998.

According to another thread, Massillon has open weeks that line up with Moeller, Upper Arlington, Fitch, Glenville, St. Ed, and Steubenville. Gotta imagine that a) there are others, but b) availability does not imply interest.

Probably the arse whippens Hoban threw down on St. V is their reason for tucking tail, running and hiding, I would imagine this goofs antics are just the icing on the cake.

Thanks, I thought they have played before. Another school that would step up and play Massillon, or Hoban would be Mentor. I know they have scheduled Massillon before because I attended a game there at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium. Also for years they regularly scheduled Ignatius and Eds back went those teams were both really good.
