2024-2025 Ohio State Basketball

Here is Delaware vs St'Johns game:
As OS said Camden has a quick release, he also has NBA range, decent lift, and moves well without the ball granted ST. Johns defense not the best.

Watching the first half last night, I was struck by the number of incredibly athletic plays by both teams, but especially Houston. More super-athletic plays in one half than I saw the entire year from OSU. We've got a ways to go to get to that level.

Barandon Noel 6'8" fwd. from Wright State commits to OSU.

Edit: One more transfer is "rumored" maybe Camden or Kennard Davis.
Noel had roughly 1,500 points and 800 rebounds in three years at Wright State. Nice all-around inside/outside skill set offensively and though it would be nice if he were 1-2 inches taller, should have plenty of bulk at around 240 lbs to hit the glass and defend inside when called upon.

We’ll see what happens but IMO this will be a better one year rental than when they got Holden from Wright State (who then returned back). Not sure if he starts but he should play significantly.

Guessing the one more guy they for sure add will be at the 3.

Rotationally in the front court it’s probably whoever that next transfer is and Royal at the 3, Royal/Noel/Stewart at the 4, and Tilly/Stewart at the 5 assuming they retain Stewart.

If they get Camden or an equivalent player I think I’d have to take that over what they trotted out on the frontline last year.

I'll take your word here and be hopeful. This hit me as a giant "Meh", but I'm happy to be proven wrong. And to your point, I'm probably stuck on an unfair comparison to Holden.

Watching a little video on Holden he does not get much lift on his 3 pt attps., basically shoots them flatfooted. But he does have some bulk and should be able to bang under the boards in the BIG. I am a big fan of experience.

Pure speculation on my part, wonder if the Terps offered Camden more cash. Hope the Bucks do add Davis (2/3) like NW said need another 3 who has some quickness and can shoot from 3.

Edit: Davis is 6'6" 215 lbs. and avg. nearly 5 boards a game.

I think Holden’s downfall was being very redundant with the best players on that team (Sensabaugh and Sueing) paired with basically being a non-shooter from the perimeter.

Yeah but where would you rather be in January and February? Miami or Columbus? Oh wait, that does not help us...

Seriously, if he wants to be on TV more and play more big games, he chooses OSU, unless the money is overwhelmingly different.
Be on TV more and play in big games? What are you talking about? Pretty much every game is on TV now and Miami has had much better recent success in basketball than Ohio State has. In reality Miami would be the easy choice because they actually care more about their basketball program and will play against better/title contending teams in the ACC more consistently.

There is really no reason at all for any good player to choose OSU while Diebler is at OSU. None at all

I'm not counting the ACC network or B10 Network - yes, all the games are on someplace. I did not see Miami once on national telecasts on CBS, NBC or Fox this year. Maybe I missed it. Or maybe it was because they were 3-17 in a below average ACC.

You need to be more specific then. You can’t just say somebody isn’t on TV but then say you don’t count ACC or other conference networks because that absolutely counts.

Now if the conversation was geared toward “major” networks then you would be onto something BUT that depends on if ESPN is considered a major network or not because that’s where all of the ACC and SEC games are now.

In the mind of today's players being nationally televised is a difference. Every conference or league does something on a channel or a livestream so that means very little to some.
