2024-2025 Ohio State Basketball

Seems to be only front court guys rumored as targets at this point.

Need to get a starter at the 3/4 spot that can stretch the floor with perimeter shooting to pair with Royal’s game which is more facing up and attacking the basket.
OSU definitely needs more depth on the front line. Hopefully Bynum can give OSU 12 - 15 minutes of playing time per game.

Read on EW that OSU has contacted John Camden 6'8" fwd. from Delaware. Avg.16 ppg., best team blue hens faced all year was St. Johns a game in which Camden scored 35 pts. on 13/18 fg. shooting (9/11 from 3). Shot 41% from 3 on the season.
Notable, although may end up leading to nothing of course, that Camden and The Foundation follow each other on instagram now. Also his sister is a student athlete at OSU.

Stewart gone or is he okay with being a back up 4/5 again?

I have no clue, but I think the plan would be to play Royal/Camden at the 3 and Stewart at 4. Hate to lose Stewart gives OSU versatility can play PF and center.

Difference is Camden hasn’t had 17 season ending injuries before (potentially) coming to Ohio State.
I'm talking just playing at a lower level with success like Towns did. Played 2 seasons in the IVY averaged 12 & 16 per game. Came to OSU and averaged less than 4 a game. Then left for Howard and averaged 14 a game.

Yes, I understand. The difference is Camden has not had multiple significant season ending injuries.
I understand, but I was speaking to the point that after leaving OSU he went to Howard and still averaged 14/game. I'm only using stats from games he played in. ;)

Because you don’t need nearly as much athleticism at a school like Howard compared to Ohio State. I didn’t watch a lot of Towns at Howard but from what I did see, he had to drastically change his game compared to how he played at Harvard because his knees were completely shot, due to his multiple significant injuries

That's my point, what can be done at Harvard, Howard and Delaware may not be the same at OSU.

Yes but, again, the reason Towns’ game didn’t translate was because he lost all his athleticism before coming to Ohio State because of his multiple significant injuries.

It translated to Howard where he went right back to starting games, playing 30+ minutes a night, averaging double digits in scoring and grabbing 7 boards.

Again, he completely changed his game because of the injuries he sustained at Harvard and Ohio State. Two different basketball players, it’s a credit to him he was able to reinvent himself.

Not to mention he was a literal grown man at Howard, he was 25 and 26 years old at Howard playing against majority 18-23 year olds.

I still say what he did at Howard was not able to be done at OSU. So, getting back to Camden, I hope Delaware has prepared him.

True and it's hard to really know how a player's game will translate from a lesser conference to the BIG. Just one game but Camden did score 35 pts. vs St. Johns.
This is true, but it could be mentioned he played all 40 minutes and his team lost by 21. He took 18 shots and never made to the foul line once.

I’m not disagreeing with you here. He was a totally different player at Howard.

Spartacus is overly pessimistic, IMO, but he’s an infinitely better talent evaluator than me. Nwwarrior09 is pretty good at it too. So you may want to wait for their opinions but I see some ability to translate. He has a quick release and good shooting motion, aggressive but not reckless when driving to the basket, sees the court well and is a solid passer for a forward. Defensively, solid at the CAA level so we’ll see if that can translate or not if he ends up here.
