2023 Bengals

The Browns would have to lose 3-4 and Bengals win out. Not happening

Even though the #Bengals can't be knocked out of the No. 6 spot in the AFC today, there are still games that matter.

Specifically, if the Bears upset the Browns and the Titans knock off the C.J. Stroud-less Texans, the Bengals will control their destiny for the 5 seed.

Sorry.

The Bengals have to finish 11-6. 10-7 won’t do it. Heck 11-6 might not do it if two of the Colts, Broncos or Texans have that record. Still a valiant effort though. I thought they were dead when Burrow went down, hell of a job by Taylor and his staff

Losing the run stuffing DT DJ Reader may have been the straw that broke the camel’s back for the Bengal D. Pratt is still looking to see who decleated him & put him on his butt.

Despite the poor int in the end zone Browing has been impressive over the last month. Sounds like he’s a good guy but more importantly he can play and is a cheap cap hit as Burrows backup next year.

Pathetic loss considering who the Bengals lost to, a stealer team that played without their 4 top safeties, back up MLB's and a stealer offense that is beyond bad. The Bengals are Joe Burrow, he has to consistently overcome no running game, bad o-line play, and this year a bad defense, and a lousy HC.

Does anyone have any confidence in this organization to fix the Swiss cheese roster? I sure don’t. They ran into a two-year fluke with Burrow and Chase on rookie deals and they’ll never have that kind of luck again.

No one on the defense can rush the QB except Hendrickson. The defense gets run on more than a treadmill. The LBs routinely get abused in coverage. The safeties aren’t good. Might as well spread some butter on Awuzie; he’s toast.

On offense, all the WRs will be gone except Chase, Iosivas and Jones. Both guard spots are an issue. Orlando Brown has underperformed. Jonah Williams is a free agent. They don’t currently have a starter-caliber TE.

The punter stinks. The coaching is trash.

There’s zero chance the front office can fix all of this. Even Dolly Parton thinks this roster is top heavy.

Steelers are a bad matchup for Bengals. Edge rushing eliminated any effective passing and offense got their butts kicked. If that wasn't enough, seemed all Rudolph had to do was simply throw the ball deep and let his receivers go get it. Happened several times yesterday. But, even if the defense had played better, 11 points will not win many games.

Look at the top of the AFC standings and note that Miami, Baltimore, KC and Buffalo are pretty much the only teams whose QB has remained healthy all year. The rest of the teams that will make the playoffs just got lucky to win enough games to emerge from the pack of teams with back up QBs. Burrow will be back next year. No need to panic.

Burrow has been injured twice now, that is very concerning and even with Burrow this team would not be going to the SB this year because the defense is near the bottom in the NFL. The rest of the teams that will make the playoffs don't rely on their QB to be Superman every week.

Merry Christmas!!!
