Saw the freshman scrimmage against Westerville Central Saturday and when it was 1's vs 1's Moeller looked good!

Offensively they are big up front and quick and athletic at the skilled positions. The RB looked amazingly quick & athletic and broke a few long runs, one for a TD.

On the defensive side the D-line and DB's played well but the LB's looked great. The Szabados kid had a pick 6 from his LB position and could be someone you will hear a lot about for the next 4 years!

The future looks bright at Moeller.

Next scrimmage @ Lakota West on Friday 8/21 at 4:30pm!

Go Big Moe!

If you are talking about the small, but really fast RB from Golden Bears- he's from St. Gabes and is a Crusader.

You lads need to go undefeated this year!! Ground and Pound! #GBM!

If the heights and weights listed on the freshman roster are accurate then Moeller should have an o-line bigger than most area varsity teams.

Plus, If I'm reading correctly, the varsity lists a 6'3'' 265 lb freshman on the roster who is not on the frosh roster.

Is this correct...?

Update on the Lakota West scrimmage: Wow did the freshman look good, especially on offense!!

First, I have to mention the running back and looking at the roster (practice jerseys not on roster) I think his name is RJ Khayo. He has got to be one of the fastest players I have seen! He has great vision and can cut on a dime. On our first offensive play he broke one for about 60yds and finished the day with a couple of Td's and two or three runs over 50yds long. Now don't forget none of that is possible without GREAT blocking from the O-Line who dominated the trenches!! The QB completed some nice passes and we scored on a nice play by one of the receivers!!

Defensively, we played a bend but don't break defense, Lakota moved the ball on us a little but they never got into the end zone! The DB's gave up a few long passes but were in position to make a play. The D-Line was in the backfield all day long and the LB's played well again! If I'm right I think it was 4td's to 0, MOELLER!! It looks like it will be a very fun year!!

First official game @ Moeller this Thursday, 8/27 vs Colerian! Come out and support the boys.

49 pts is allot for a freshman team to score, not to mention vs. Colerain. Good stuff. Any one have details?

Offense is full of playmakers...Rb's are 4 deep, QB's are 3 deep, WR's are 4 deep and the line is the same size or bigger then most varsity teams. We just didn't have the size or numbers to compete for 4 quarters.

Defense is a work in progress. #44 is all over the field, he even pushed down one of his own linebacker teammates to try to make a play. DE's are solid, LB's need work except for #44, and the DB's are ok. The safety's need to make a tackle or two also.

From my perspective its a very sound freshman team. My only thought would be that there are more players on the sideline that could help defensively and would've thought they would rotate more especially once they got up by 29 late in 3rd. I seen starters still in game in 4th quarter...come on man ---it's freshman football and you have players on sideline that would start at most public schools. All in all a team to watch the next 4 years.

Good luck and keep fighting Cards!

So I heard that RJ Khayo the freshman RB is now dressing varsity, can anyone confirm that? If that's true that makes 3 freshman, QB Miles McBride, OL Zach Carpenter and now RB RJ Khayo all dressing varsity. They must be incredible athletes because that just doesn't happen at Moeller very often! The future is bright at Moeller!!
Go Big Moe!! Beat Louisville St. X Saturday!!

Freshman beat Louisville St X today 26-21!! Defense looked as good as they have all year especially the DB's who had a couple of INT's! Offensively, RJ Khayo who did have the "M" on his helmet had 3 TD runs and the O-line continues to get better every week! The Ringle kid on the OL continues to be a player that just dominates the D-lineman and linebackers across him.

Cincinnati St. X next Wednesday come out and support the boys!!!

Good to hear. Thanks for the updates. Sounds like a group with great potential in the coming years....

Definitely some talent on that team- hopefully the RB grows!

I wouldn't say a 26-21 win was dominate..my buddy who has a son on the team said that they almost lost. As much as I liked watching RJ in middle school, he is not ready for any varsity action. Didn't he fumble 3 times Saturday? Also, the same buddy says that the defense is slow and soft. You must not have known that Louisville St X was missing their starting QB and RB like the rest of the Moe parents. He also said it's the first game that a safety has made a play. From the players I've watched in the past I would say the 3 "daddy" coaches might want to start playing the actual athletes that will be playing the next few years or Moe might continue to look like they did against Bosco Friday night. Oh yeah, maybe you oughta tell the daddy's on the sideline that it's embarrassing to the other players that one of their son's forgets his cleats and still plays with his circus colored basketball shoes...my buddy said the St X parents had a good laugh with that. What does it tell the other kids and parents of the Big Moe program? All I can say is you better hope you keep winning these freshman games or the wheels might come rolling off!
When you consider that of the three touchdowns Louisville st x scored the first was on a drive that started on the 40 yard line the second was on special teams and the third was with 5 seconds left the defense played pretty well. I know the secondary may have fell apart on the last drive but they did have 2 interceptions and the d-line was putting pressure on the qb all day not because he was a backup but because they were able to get past the offensive line on almost every play

Geez- welcome to yappi CometTool!
What a nasty, nasty post- it is never cool to talk negatively about kids on here. Talk football all you want, hell, bash Moe, but bashing kids makes you a total loser

Did your "buddy"also tell you how many u sportsmen like flags they got?

Wow, "CometsRule" sounds like an angry dad that's son isn't getting a lot of playing time! Its funny to me how some of these dad's think they know more than the coaches who are at practice everyday evaluating the boys. We are 4-0 against some very good teams(minus Western Hills) so obviously the freshman coaches have done a very good job putting kids in positions for the TEAM to be successful! And the varsity coaches, who I'm going to guess know what they are doing had to see something in RJ Khayo to make the decision to move him up. If you are so unhappy at Moeller you can always save 12K and take all your negativity back to Mason! #GoBigMoe! #StateChampions2019!

I am not sure what is meant by "daddy coaches". Do Moeller freshmen coaches have kids on the team?

It's is always easy to criticize coaching decisions particularly when it involved playing time. At large schools like Moeller the talent of those on second string if often very close to first string players, which can make it easy to question coaching. Given their record it appears the coaches are making some pretty good decisions. Best of luck (other than against St X)

For someone who has "no dog in the fight" you sure seem to have your panties in a wad. You hatred of Moeller Dads is noted (does this include your "buddy"?)- so maybe just stop coming to the games if they upset you so much? For someone so critical of others reading comprehension, you sure do show your own ignorance- no one said Moe "dominated" St. X (KY)- that was in reference to a single players season thus far who I think anyone watching would agree with that assessment.

Somehow you mistook creating a yappi account to bash kids as a manly thing to do- but you just look like an . As for your "buddy"'- bring your camera on Thursday for the B game and tell his kid to make it impossible to keep him off the field. Hopefully he doesn't have the same loser attitude as his Dad's "buddy".

Don't go all tazz on your self :stirthepot:---I thought Moe had an outstanding reputation on education fhsknockout1, but you proved differently. If you could read my post again, I do not have a dog in the fight. I am clearly stating what I have heard from your fellow Crusaders. I'm sure your one of the "legacy" dads that attends every practice and still wears Big Moe gear everywhere . So please enlighten us more on how the practices go and how the players are evaluated. I've watched a game or 2 with my buddy and I'll tell you that there is still work to do. Maybe a 2nd stringer does deserve an opportunity? Or is it that the 2nd stringer might push some of the "wrong" starters?

StateChampions2019? Now I am sure the other undefeated freshman teams in Ohio are thinking the same thing. People like me actually see through non-biased eyes and remember we are discussing freshman football. I'm sure freshman football was the highlight of your high school career, but come on man.

For the record GCLFan99, I did reach out to a couple parents and it is true...for 12k a year and to wear the maze and gold, you get 3 daddy coaches :welcome:

The fact that a few parents have an issue with who is starting is no great surprise. I am sure you can find that at every high school in the country. While I must admit I find it strange that some parents feel the need to hang out at practice I don't believe that is unique to Moeller. Your email could apply to any high school in the city. If Moeller was 0-4 there would be more validity to your email but I think it is hard for someone to complain anout the current state of the team
