Blackjack Mountain - Holding Time (2021)

My Ratings: 74.157
Rank: 951 (out of 1999)

Best Track: Red Eagle [77.0]

Heavy (Hard) Rock

Most of these tracks are straight out Hard Rock yet the band considers themselves Heavy Rock.... so it got me curious as to what the heck is Heavy Rock... well, it is the same thing as Hard rock but the new bands are just calling it Heavy rock for some reason.... OK. That clears that up. This is a band that I would see live. They just have that on the road type jam sound to them.....

Stoneforge - Ash Major (2021)

My Ratings: 77.699
Rank: 381 (out of 2000)

Best Track: Relentless Agonizer [84.0]

Stoner Rock

"Stoneforge was formed in 2016 by three friends living on the french-swiss border, near Geneva. They describe their music as "hard rocking stoned blues", mixing influences of old school rock and heavy stoner riffs. "

Alright, it is early in 2021 but this album had two great songs on it the first for me in 2021. This rating my be high enough to get this album in my top 30 for 2021. Lots more to come though but this was a good start.

My Ratings: 75.850
Rank: 624 (out of 2002)

Best Track: Roll Over Beethoven [77.6]

Progressive Symphonic Rock

I've actually never heard any of these songs before and they sounded pretty good. I guess radio stations back in the day do not like playing lengthy tracks....

This album broke up the original version of ELO which featured the very eccentric Roy Wood. Kind of a transition as ELO moved into what would become a vehicle for Jeff Lynne's vision of a more pop sounding Beatles Baroque Rock.

I wasn't sure if I was going to like it as I did not care for the 1st album but yeah.... it was pretty good.

I would of swore I already did this album but it is not on my spreadsheet nor did I find it posted on here so I dunno what the heck happened. Half the tracks on this album are just great tracks and some I likely hear at least 3 times a week...... Great album with a great album cover!!!
