I don't really think that just his opinion, I think it's fact. The more undeserving teams allowed in the playoffs the more lopsided scores you're going to get. If your #1 seed is blowing out #8 seeds....adding a 16 seed is naturally going to add the the number of blowouts.

#1) It's a $ grab by the OHSAA, plain and simple.

#2) It's fine with me, it just one extra time I get to go to PBTS for a game.

#3) Honestly, what would a 1-9 team have done throughout a....1-9 campaign....to deserve to garner a playoff spot?
Again I don't care what y'all say y'all got your opinion I got mine. Call it a money grab all you want it literally added one extra week that's it I can understand if the playoffs was like 18 weeks then yeah I would agree if they extended the regular season and state championship game was played in week 18 then like I said I will absolutely agree with you but the state championship game before was week 15 now was week 16 that's it... Regardless of the fact nobody in this region will stop Massillon and I think we all can agree on that so whether it was 8 team or 16 the outcome will still be the same

To each their own, some like having more football and games to go to, some don't need it. You're viewing this mostly from a R7 perspective, but in general I think 4 vs 5 or 3 vs 6 in round one, for example, is much better than 4 vs 13 and 3 vs 14. It's also an extra week of snaps in mostly meaningless games where you can get key players hurt that might derail a team's chances to make a run. I also have a hard time believing that most of the kids on these 1-9 or 2-8 teams have any interest in playing one more week just to get their head kicked in one more time.

Its amazing the number of people that don't know how to pronounce Pataskala. I know this is just satire, but I would be suprised if people in Stark County, or really any non-cental Ohio area, actually know how to pronounce Pataskala correctly.
Not meaning this as insult, but the more pertinent question, how many people in northeast Ohio have ever heard of Pataskata?

Spot on. When you get to the semi's and finals all the teams are very good or they wouldn't be there.
We all know this, and it wasn't the point I was making. Mainly talking about there shouldn't be no 16 teams from each region, and only have 8.

Thank you very much, that was the main point I meant.

Bro I understand what you're trying to say and again I apologize if I'm coming off like a ahole but my point is if it was a huge jump in my opinion then yes I will agree with you but the fact that they allow 16 teams in the playoffs only increased the length of the playoffs by one week literally one week like I stated to JLP it went from 15 weeks to 16 weeks now I do have an issue with teams that are 1-9 i agree that's bs but the notion that blowouts only happened with the new format is asinine and is not true because the way I look at it is even in the rest of the regions the top teams in that division will stand out above the rest we all know who the top teams in the state is in each respected division correct? I expect them teams to be playing in week 14 to week 16 is my whole point so the other rounds in the playoffs don't matter to me but I know they're going to weed their self out in the end. I enjoy it because I like watching football that's more football I get to watch even though it's one extra week is one extra week of high school football which we all love it because if we didn't we wouldn't be on here week in and week out argue it amongst each other about it if we didn't care.

As far as the game goes LH reminds me of GlenOak and canisius as far as Massillon opponents that we played this year. Predominantly an odd front team on defense and predominantly a pistol formation team on offense quarterback I believe is the 4th string QB and the 5th QB that they have used all season according to the announcers of the game I was watching. OL is decent in size but not really a great OL overall defensive line is the same way they're kind of lazy actually. The receivers and running backs are average I noticed the receiving core is really small and the quarterback seems like he's scared to run he will tend to just throw the ball up in harm way I predict we get at the least three interceptions this game possibly more I just don't understand what their game plan on offense would be. If they are smart they will take a page out of McKinley's book but I don't know if they have the athletes that McKinley has to be able to load the box and try to play Man coverage on the outside against us because if they try to man us up slaughter will throw for 300 yards plus. I predictive final score to be 56-0

What most ohio and Massillon fans dont know before Lex Wesner basically made the east side of Columbus his playground with all his funding and projects. Before all the mass suburban development on that side it was known as an enclave called Summit Station situated at Route 16 and Mink Road. The Licking Heights Local School District like New Albany-Plain Local spent years toiled in obscurity and at that time drew students from Lima and Jersey Township on the Licking side and some students from Jefferson Twp on the Franklin County side. In 1994 Lima Township merged with Pataskala because township leaders couldnt do their math and check growth from encroaching cols metro. the then tiny licking heights only drew like 400-500 students in k12 and it was primarly rural with rednecks and farmers living there. By the early to mid 2000s is when enrollment finally blew up at LHLD and not one but two highs have to be built to handle all the growth at mink and morse road. Before this the hornets have reached the playoffs a time or too but were most likely knocked out of the playoffs. The school has been seeing an increase in Somali and south asian students, not sure if they football or not

No insult taken, its just a funny name for a town. Its not well known for much but farmland. Although the big Intel factory is being built nearby. There are warehouse distribution plants such as Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Fedex and Kohl's that have encroached the area and started gobbling up land. Lots of suburban neighborhoods are being built now, so its not as much rural anymore. Where the city is located there is also an influx of Columbus, Reynoldsburg, New Albany and Gahanna kids in the school district. It might also be one of the most diverse districts in the state because of this.

Believe it or not, people occasionally mispronounce Massillon. Muh-sill-ian, is the most common I've heard.

Absolutely NOBODY said that blowouts only happened in the new format....NOBODY.

Again, what has ANY 1-9 / 2-8 team done to "earn" a playoff spot?
If you read what I posted earlier I said teams that are 1-9,2-8 absolutely do not deserve to be in the playoffs but I'm not going to lie though LH is 4-6 and they lost to some great teams

I use the extra home playoff games to score more Krispy Kreme donuts after the game 🤣

Seriously, nothing against this team, but they are 4-6, and not worthy of a playoff team, in my opinion. playoffs should be a reward for a decent season. That is why 8 teams per region is definitely a little better at least

But also they lost to some pretty good opponents as well but tbh we honestly asked for the playoffs to be expanded because I remember people complaining a few years ago when winton woods missed the playoffs because they played a pretty brutal schedule everybody was complaining about them not making it even though they did finish 6-3 that year . I feel like with the way the playoffs is set up right now it allows teams like Massillon, Ed's,Hoban, Moeller,St X and Ignatius who play gauntlets of schedules to have more leeway of making the playoffs that's why I feel like 12 teams would be better because the 8-9 match ups is honestly very intriguing imo because there's not too much separation we are all looking at the fact of there are blowouts which typically you're #1 seeds are the likes of Massillon,Avon, Hoban,Eds anybody them teams play in the beginning of the playoffs are going to be blowouts hell you can even count a team like Marion local nobody is going to challenge them and to us time for them to be challenged that's why I said eight teams in reality in my opinion solves anything because one thing I hate about the old format is if you played a gauntlet of a schedule you can easily miss the playoffs and that's BS you should get rewarded for playing a tough schedule not punished

Wait till a team REALLY loads the box. Mck had 6 sometimes maybe 7 in the box they had some extra guys in there for sure but nothing like having 9 guys almost up on the line of scrimmage. There were times I seen Mck have only three down lineman and stuffed our run yesterday. Point is that Mck defense owned our offensive line. Mck didn't bring a lunch because they stole our O-lines.
