IMHO, neither Massillon nor Hoban is as good as last year. OTOH, Avon, Walsh, and Anderson are all better. Bottom line: it's a 5-way coin flip. It all depends on who has a bad night, a huge play, etc.
Good luck to the Tigers the rest of the year! Bring home another State Championship. The Pups lost to Avon 21-14 and Massillon in a game they should/could have won. BTW-McKinley gets a rematch with Jackson this Friday.

Them Iggy teams maybe not "finesse" but they had some pass heavy teams. I remember them sending us home a couple times at the rubber bowl when I was younger and they beat us with their pass. 42 points through the air. Or maybe you don't remember when they had Brian Hoyer they definitely liked to pass. Also the year at PBTS when we were up a couple scores at half and Anthony Gonzalez caught like 4 or 5 TDs in the second half and they came back to beat us. Massillon also did have a few years when I would say we were passing first or more pass when we had the "air raid" attack with Zwick and the offense we ran for a few years after him
Ignatius has never been a pass heavy team, it may have seemed like it but if anything they were very balanced. The year Gonzalez scored 3 TD’s on us in the 2nd half they ran the ball 39 times and threw it 25.
They have never scored 42 pts on us in a game from TD passes. Even when they beat us 49-20 in the playoffs they ran the ball 35 times and had 25 passes.

I sure remember them throwing more than they passed them years. They didn't beat us running the ball. They have had 300 yards passing on us but never nothing close to that running the ball

Your memory is failing you. Ignatius has never had more passes than rushes in any game against us.

They have never had 300 yds passing on us.
Not sure about that. They had 250 in 2002 and threw 35 times and rushed 25. 2001 their QB threw for 3800 yards that's pretty pass heavy if you ask me. Yes most years I will give you they were more balanced but still threw more even if it wasn't by alot. They would mainly beat you with their pass but were balanced enough to run as well. I have never went into a ignatius game thinking man I hope they don't run it all over us. Usually it was the passing attack that worried me as they always had a decent QB and receivers.

I can tell you from the stats they have never had a 300 yd passing game against us.
In the 02’ game they ran the ball 39 times and only passed 25 times.

Damn, I'm sick that we may have lost some players. I am not privy to any info, but I hope everybody's Allright. I know i saw a lot of frustrated players. This is why 1 vs 16 is just bs. When teams are outmanned, this sort of thing happens.

If you're referring to Heights taking cheap shots, I assure you that they played a clean game from my perspective and this is a general mischaracterization when a better team finds itself dealing with injuries following playing a team with less ability. I don't recall Heights receiving any personal foul penalties. Injuries happen, its part of the game, hopefully all are healthy and healed for the rest of the playoff season, you have a great team.

No, there was nothing dirty about Heights. More about the added risk of extra games the top teams face for no real good reason.
