Shawnee beat Spencerville 25-8, 25-15, 25-8. They played this outdoors on their football field in an event dubbed "Sets and Spikes at Sundown". Local sports reporters and The Lima News said it may have been among the first OHSAA volleyball games played outdoors at the football stadium, modeling after the Nebraska event.
