WCAL Football 2024

Kid is a stud. That's a good move. I heard they have looked good in 7 on 7s.
I agree will be a big loss without him at wide receiver, though it makes the team very dimensional with Moyer back there at running back and having the threat of having Dylan taking off at any time.. I do know I think we got Dylan Tanner playing wide receiver this year and he’s 6”5 it’s his first year of high school ball I believe though so we’ll see how good he is

Dalton QB threw I believe 2 picks against Triway out of the 2 possessions each team had. Triway did not turn the ball over and move the ball pretty smoothly.

I figured Dalton might have a down year .. but we will see I think there bread and butter will be running it. I have them battling for 3rd place this year with Rittman .

Not so fast my friend I heard Dalton has looked good this year. They finished 2nd out of 32 teams at Ohio State 7 on 7 playing big school teams. Storied rivalry had some clips. I heard they smacked Avon & Claymont too.

Very well could be ! But I have a fee like 5 of the teams in the wcal would smack claymont they haven’t won’t more then 3 games since 2017 i belive . Infact I think they have only won like 6 games in 9 years ! ! Now if they smacked Avon that’s truly something to brag about ! Then again 7 on 7s don’t say much

I think you may have watched a just little at beginning of the 7 on 7. When the varsity came back out after the JV, it was a different story. Dalton will be very good this year, not as good as last year, but very good.

Yes, I said the first 2 possessions each team had. I had to leave after about 45 minutes. Glad to hear they played better after.

With the season starting in a month, does anyone know how Chippewas numbers have looked? I’m assuming more than they had last year but not sure. I look forward to going there week 3 and see them battle against the Comets.
Right now they are around 34 kids. They just were in a 7 on 7 tournament at Bucyrus with a bunch of other teams. Competed well all day. Won their first round game over Colonel Crawford and lost in their second game 12-6 to Claymont. I know they were in three other contests prior to the round robin and the Coach was pleased with their progress.

In my opinion it’s between Norwayne and Dalton. Dalton returns 7 starters on offense and 5 on defense. The other spots will be filled with a good crop of players who split time on varsity and JV. The sophomore quarterback has looked good in 7 on 7s.

Offensive returning starters include 3 lineman and 4 skilled.

Those are good numbers for a program trying to get out of a slump and all the other issues they had last year.

Anyone know how Chippewa looked against East Canton?
East Canton won 2-1. The Chipps defense did fairly good against the run, got burned on a few flat passes. The Hornets blitzed a lot, which is tough when you don’t game plan for it. IMO, wasn’t a classy move on their part, but hey, it is what it is. Chipps scored on an out cut that the player turned into a 33 yard TD.
