Any word on cause? When young former athletes, especially ones in heavy contact sports like football, pass so early I tend to assume suicide. While no cause of death at his age is good, I just hope he wasn’t battling something internal and suffering while he was alive.

Sadly this or drugs/alcohol are often my first thought before an illness/ health emergency. Watching the feeds/blogs and seeing kids that have left their senior year of high school to enrolled early and then getting cut in the spring due to roster limits also is a mental health disaster waiting to happen. No clue if this is the case here, but I think the NCAA needs to figure this out before it becomes a bigger issue. Prayers for this young mans family and teammates- just heartbreaking
