The Top Ranked Football Players of All-Time from Ohio High Schools

This list or ranking leaves much to be desired. Not a whole lot of research or analysis went into it. For example, Don Scott, a two-time All Ohio quarter back from Canton McKinley, went on to Ohio State to play half back and eventually QB. A two-time All-American player for the Buckeyes. Led the Buckeyes to a Big Ten title his junior year. Scott also played varsity basketball for Ohio State and helped lead the Buckeyes to the Final Four in 1940. In early 2000, Don Scott was chosen by the Touchdown Club of Columbus as one of four quarterbacks on the Ohio State Football All-Century Team, alongside, Rex Kern, Joe Germain and Art Schlichter.
He was drafted in the 1st round of the 1941 NFL draft by the Chicago Bears. However, Scott opted to volunteer and join the Army Air Force. On October 1, 1943, Don Scott perished at age 23, when his B-25 bomber crashed in England. In honor of Don Scott, exactly one month after his passing, a vote by the Ohio State Board of Trustees, christened the school's airport as Don Scott Field. So, when anyone speaks of the top ranked Ohio high school football players, it should include Canton McKinley's Don Scott. One of Ohio's great high school football players!

Didn't see Frank Stams from Akron St. V / St. M. on the list. Played for Notre Dame and Los Angles Rams. I watched him play against my Ironton Tigers in The Shoe 1982 State Finals. He played rb/de and was a beast. Moeller / Massillon game was played that day, too. Moeller had the Francisco brothers and Massillon had Chris Spillman.

Trying to figure out what this list is based on. Ben Roethlisberger at #7 is throwing me off. Nice pro career, but seven?

Posting this for the second time in this thread. From the list's website:

Football Player Ranking Explanations
--This website uses statistics and results to rank players. It does not use opinion/bias to rank players.
--Only professional league stats are factored into the ratings.
--What a player did in High School or College does factor into the ratings.

[Seems to be a disconnect between those last two bullet points, though]

Leagues That Factor Into Rankings
1. AAFC-All America Football Conference (1946-1949)
2. AFL-American Football League (1960-1969)
3. NFL-National Football League (1920-present)
4. USFL-United States Football League (1983-1985

All-Time Player Rankings
--All qualified players are statistically ranked by position every year.
--The players receive a rating that is not posted on the website.
--The rating for football players is the average rank of their 7 best years.
--Players who have not or did not play 7 qualifying years receive a penalty to the rating for every year under 7 that they played.

Your explanation makes me say with even more emphasis than in may previous post that Ted Ginn Jr should be higher. 14 years in the NFL
