The OSU VS. The UM

OSU was down 13-0 in takedowns at intermission. Down 4-1 in matches. In hindsight, maybe Xich should hav run someone out at 141 and not given up 6.

Started getting TDs in 2nd half. Hepner's match was awesome. I knew he was looking for that cradle at the end. He is so good at it.

And of course OSU got the biggest TD of the night from Mr. Feldman. What a great night!! Place was electric.
Feldman sealing the deal against Cornell and tonight, kid has been clutch. He set the place on fire both nights.

This team is a ton of fun to watch. What an ending. The Covelli was going nuts. The lightweights took it on the chin and all looked off. We were talking all night how we didn't believe OSU had a TD at the break. Just looked and I believe they didn't get a TD in 6 matches (5 actually wrestled, forfeit at other). And this team has been getting a ton so far this season. This teams going to be special in the next few years if they can stay healthy. Can still end up with an undefeated dual record (*49 states) for a team a lot were considering as a rebuilder year.

On my Spectrum it shows it on at 7pm with a replay at 2am.

Apologies. The thread was dated Jan. 18th.
Just joking around at my inability to recognize what the couple of post I read were actually about...

Great match. Almost missed it. I had my DVR set to record anytime "College Wrestling" showed up on Big Ten Network. Well, they changed it to "Men's College Wrestling" and was not set to record - so I figured it was not going to be televised. Glad I checked again at just about 6:45pm.

I don't think 165 was a TRF. I thought Mantanona was a U-M recruit out of high school. Either way, it's not a TRF like the other four where they are one-year rentals for U-M.

In terms of the 141 FF, Lemley was flagged at skin check, which left U-M without a wrestler who weighed in that could cover 141.

After watching the replay this morning, it looks like Cam Amine was a late scratch in favor of Beau Mantanona. Anyone think Michigan thought they had this dual locked up after winning 4 of the first 5 and made the switch?
Amine wrestled 2 duals last weekend.

I doubt it OSU's back half is dangerous enough that it would be a dumb move. Ryder is a threat to pin anybody and Rocco could've beaten Griffith too. They definitely should've gone with Amine if he was available though.

Side note Gomez is in the discussion for a natty at 149. Lovett, Gomez, or Henson.

That makes sense. The announcers were caught off guard that it wasn't Amine out there at 165.

Great win for OSU. My biggest complaint: Why on earth did the put Rocco down vs Griffith? He wrestled the perfect match for 2 periods only for his coaches to put him into Griffith’s biggest strength. Welsh is so physical on his feet, which Griffith hates, he possibly could’ve gotten another stall call. The only way to guarantee a loss was put him down. I was so baffled.

Wrestler development.

They had zero takedowns. And a forfeit. Not that great for the"Young Bucks".Not to mention Amine sat out.
Amine warmed up and was ready to go so not Bucks fault he didn’t wrestle. Plus the last time they wrestled Hepner won. Amine is 1-2 in his last 3 matches and needed OT to be a nobody from Rutgers last Sunday.

Being a onetime college wrestler, I have to raise an eyebrow at anyone who would call a varsity D1 wrestler a "nobody", A rather brash statement. Might want to also try spellcheck.
